I was about to say nod

Also, Sassy did a kick ass version, completely suited for her tone of voice...

And Billie Holiday's version is the eeriest...

Still like the orginal production of the Opera / Broadway Production of Porgy & Bess, "Summertime" with the late Ann Brown (August 9, 1912 — died March 13, 2009) as Bess.

&

Ella Fitzgerald & Louise Armstrong version, some of you may not be able to hear/see it, it's blocked in some countries. neutral

Harle posted the Vaughan version. worship

Audray McDonald also did 'Summertime' some justice on a PBS special a decade ago, it's not on YouTube but her rendition of - 'My Man's Gone Now' is. My goodness!

I recently discovered a gorgeous version of the song, Melba Moore sang this in a soprano voice as part of a medley (Lady Madonna, Summertime, Dat dere, God bless the cild) on this 1972 live album

Sarah Vaughan's version of "Summertime", a cappella. Speechless.

nevermind the video. I really like Peters style and the arrangement.

Charlie kills this.

One of the great jazz guitarists recorded this as well, but I can't seem to remember his dang name at the moment.

Chaka recorded an excellent version with Joe Henderson back in 1997. Couldn't find that version to post so I'm posting this one:

For a non-vocal version, Marcus Roberts' uniquely-arranged piano version is fantastic.

It's on the album "Gershwin For Lovers" which is outstanding all around.

There's a live version of Michael Feinstein's Summertime floating around somewhere.... Incredible, by far the best I've heard.

Seen him perform it in the flesh a couple of times. One of the best vocalists I've ever had the pleasure to listen to up close.
