They had a great organic notion in their music that stood the test of time. People still love them today, almost twenty years after they first hit the scene big with "Tennessee" (which, for those that don't know, sampled "Alphabet St." from Prince).

They were also one of the first hip-hop acts to really utilize a live band, and thereby add to not only their uniqueness, but that organic quality we know them for.

I appreciated the fact that they called it "Life Music", because it really was alive. Their stage wasn't littered with a plethora of turntables and side men yelling "Yeah.....uh...yeah......uh" every other second. They had real musicians, playing some great music. If anyone deserves a place in the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame, it's these guys.

EXACTLY WHY I LOVE THEM.. and instead using 'they had' use "they have" because Arrested Develovepment is still performing live today. wink
