Queen Albums So before the last few week's i knew tons of Queen songs but was always hesitant to buy there albums because of some review i read for some of there albums.
But i decided to say screw it to the reviews and buy Sheer Heart Attack & Night At the Opera
WHAT GREAT ALBUMS!
It seem's alot of critics have changed there mind about Queen over the years but i can see more after actually listening to albums why there one of the most beloved band's in the world!, These albums are fantastic the guitar work is incredible and Mercury has a beautiful voice.
Brighton Rock & In The Lap Of The God's i have listened to like non stop lol
Love of my life from Opera was already a favorite Death on two legs is very clever and fun & Prophets Song is my current favorite Queen song

I love Sheer Heart Attack and Night at the Opera. Cream in my opinon I also like Day at the Races, Queen II, and Jazz. I like everything else before and after that but those are my favs. Inneudo ( the last album they released before Freddie passed) is one my favorite also. Very underrated in the United states compared to Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, other british bands, etc. I'm in the mood for love...simply because your near me.

One of my all-time favorite records. 'Get Down Make Love' really blew my mind. And 'Brighton Rock' is just EPIC - so fantastic!

OK since we usually have one Prince thread a month like this - here goes:
Queen I - 7 out of 10
Queen II - 8.5 out of 10
Sheer Heart Attack - 9 out of 10
Night at the Opera - 8.5 out of 10
Day at the Races - 6.5 out of 10
News of the World - 8 out of 10
Jazz - 8 out of 10
Live Killers - 8 out of 10 (The band apparently hated this album and I don't understand why).
The Game - 7 out of 10
Flash - Negative 17 out of 10
Hot Space - 5 out of 10
The Works - 7 out of 10
A Kind of Magic - 7.5 out of 10 (Even though half the album is garbage, the half that is good is brilliant)
The Miracle - 6 out of 10
Innuendo - 7 out of 10
Made in Heaven - 5 out of 10

"Jazz" is definitely worth checking out too.
I agree with the original post - some great albums and some very interesting tracks that maybe aren't the well-known ones but still seriously worth a few afternoons of your time This is not an exit

yeah im going to totally agree on your numbers , i feel that were screwed in the 80's because their 70's work was top notch and so unique, i feel others suffered that criticism too, like Elton John and others, but looking into these 80's works there are alot of gems within, comparisons will always lead to disappointment as they say. The Works and Kind of Magic are their finest of that era, Innuendo is top notch and technically really was the last album, though there was material left over (wish there was more) and Made in heaven i would up that to a 6 at least, though its tough because they were far from a band at that point, and it was a "miracle" that they even could record and Freddie was still blessed with the voice till the end. And i agree on Live Killers they do hate that record, never wanted it released, they werent happy with the mixing i believe is what Roger said. "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

I think one should not forget, that Queen were one of the really few hard rock bands from the seventies who not only managed to stay relevant in the eighties, they got even bigger in that decade...true, their material wasn't really on par with their best stuff from the seventies, but they almost single-handedly invented stadium rock and were probably the biggest band in the world at that time..even if they never really hit it big in the US of A.
Damn, I love me some Queen, I'm gonna take a hit at Queen 2 right about now
