Evelyn King "Get Loose" Reissue With Bonus Tracks

Just got mine in the mail today! It comes with 4 bonus tracks. Sounds great! This same company will be reissuing Deniece William's "Songbird" soon!!! And no, Big Break Records is not one of those bootleg companies that rip from vinyl. They use original masters and give you complete liner notes.

Got it! lol

I've got all 7 bbr remasters. Just when you thought CD was dead this small companies start remastering those 70s albums, most of which I had never heard, but they sound so good I can't help but getting them.

If they keep doing that I'm so going bankrupt sad

Yeah,I'm amazed at all these remasters that we are getting lol For awhile there,I thought that the record labels had given up on Old School music.I'm thrilled to see that they came to their senses and realized that there are MANY folks who still buy CDs and want this music.

Btw,what are the other 6 bbr remasters?

While I'm happy to have "Get Loose" with the bonus tracks, this is the third CD reissue of this particular title. I wrote the company and told them it would be great if they reissue some of Evelyn's other titles that have yet to see the light of day on CD, like "Face To Face", "Musicbox", "Call On Me" and "A Long Time Coming" (which was reissued by Bluebird Records but it was ripped from vinyl).

But, yes, it is great to have these small companies who are taking an interest in properly reissuing a lot of these classic titles. I'm interested to see what the track listing for Deniece Williams "Songbird" is going to look like. I'm hoping for some bonus tracks because I already have the Japanese reissue of the CD. But, again, I wish they would reissue more titles that have never been reissued in the past. I'm going to keep on badgering BBR and Reel Music until they finally get sick of me and give me what I want! lol

I know what you mean nod It's great that these labels are reissuing this stuff, but I want them to reissue the rare albums that have never been on CD before. As you pointed out,'Get Loose' has been on CD before.I remember seeing a copy of it in the early 90s.I'd like reissues of 'Music Box' and 'I'm In Love'.I'll happily join your "badgering campaign" to get them to release the stuff that we really want, lol.

I bought the BBR reissue even though I already had the Japanese cd of "Get Loose" but I wasn't disappointed: fantastic sound quality and a very informative and extensive booklet. Along with Reel Music, I think BBR and Edsel (for those great Philly releases) are the best independent reissue companies out there. I also have "About Love" by Gladys Knight and the self-titled Three Degrees album by them, and each release is fantastic.

BBR will also be releasing "New Dimensions" by the Three Degrees with bonus tracks, including the 12" of "The Runner" and Heatwave's "Current" on cd in August. I can't wait for both!

They are also on Facebook: www.facebook.com/big-break-records

Interestingly, this was the period in which she had dropped the "Champagne" from her name. She actually didn't want to do it.....it was her record label's idea."They said that "Champagne" sounded childish",she recalls."I told them that champagne is NOT something that kids drink".

lol Subsequent albums featured the return of "Champagne" to her name.
