10 best songs of the 90s

I have done the 10 most ridiculous, now the 10 best in my opinion. Please don't crucify me if you don't agree. In fact if you don't agree, what are the 10 songs you loved the most from the 90s.

10. My Heart Will go on - Celine Dion 1997
I don't care what anyone says, this was a superb ballad, sung very convincingly and set in the right context. Easily her greatest moment.

9. I'll make love to you - Boyz II Men 1994
One of their greatest songs ever, this song had melody, upbeat lyrics and a sign of true devotion, plus these guys had phine voices that soared into a heavenly harmony. Need I say more

8. The most beautiful girl in the world - Prince (TAFKAP, SYMBOL) 1994
Easily his finest moment on wax in the 90s, Prince had one of the most beautiful falsettos, combined with first rate songwriting and instrumental virtuosity, proved that even in 1994, he could pull a catchy hit out of anywhere.

7. Finally - Ce Ce Penniston 1991/92
Very upbeat and catchy song, positive lyrics and a dancefloor filler.

6. Daughter - Pearl Jam 1993
Probably one of their finest songs, that captures the energy and angst of the grunge rock sound, convincing lyrics and a great snarl.

5. November Rain - Guns N Roses 1991
Known more for their hair metal and hard rock sound, this tender rock ballad, was full of raw power, emotion, superb guitar playing and clever touches like Violins and Axl could prove he really could sing

4. Tell Him - Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion 1997
Gorgeous ballad with some sensational voices and melody. Two of the best singers in their prime doing the finest music ever here.

3. Jeremy - Pearl Jam 1991
The Finest exponent of all grunge songs, real angst, raw emotion and Pearl Jam at their best. The whole album it came from (Ten) was brilliant and lacked any of the self indulgence, albums from Vitalogy onwards had.

2. Michael Jackson - You are Not alone 1995
His most beautiful ballad and song from the 1990s, sung with haunting emotion and pure sincerity, this song still gives me goosebumps. Its hard to believe he dedicated it to Lisa Marie, but you can apply this to anyone. MJ was truly the greatest singer and dancer around.

1. Boyz II Men - End of the Road 1992
Probably the most beautiful song ever sung, great harmonies, voices and totally believable and emotional lyrics. Every vocal device is used here to great effect. Truly this was what love songs were all about, and then the spoken bit where he is pleading for her to come back, because his heart hurts and he feels things too. Wow

Sorry do you all agree and if not, what songs do you think were the most beautiful. I know some of you would have enjoyed Boyz II Men as well

You going on singles? -cos Black has to be better than Jeremy. Those PJ songs I loved once upon a time.

I personally can't stomach Celine Dion, kinda stands out in the list for its incongruity, but if it does it for you cool.

Boyz II Men are bit sappy for me but those songs are decent.

You all know that I ADORE MJ, but you gotta be kidding with You are not alone? That´s one of the worst MJ songs ever. I´d nominate Stranger in Moscow, Earth Song, Who Is It etc.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I agree. "Earth Song" is pure genius. It's moody, it's got that "epic" feel the way "Purple Rain", "Gold", and "Man In the Mirror" had. It's anthemic, and moves you. It's captivating. "Stranger In Moscow" starts a bit slow for me, but when he's in the moment, it's pure brilliance. Some of the best MJ stuff I've ever heard. BAD is a favorite album for me, and I dig about 99% of stuff on Dangerous. I think HIStory was greatly over looked in a lot of ways, but there is some brilliant stuff on there.

"Who Is It" is SICK! I LOVE that track!

Who is crucifying you? Please don't tell me you come here and post an item in hopes of everyone agreeing with you 100% of the time??? That would be a bit boring, wouldn't it?

You also realize that out of 10 years of songs, NO ONE is going to have the same Top 10 anything that you have. I don't know if you know that. I mean, do you know that?

What if someone isn't a fan of Celine Dion (which dismisses TWO on the list) or Barbra Streisand? What if someone doesn't like Grunge, and dismisses Pearl Jam?

Dude, you gotta learn to grow a thicker skin. Surely you don't throw yourself on the floor and have a fit every time someone disagrees with you in person. How the heck do you handle yourself at a job where people are sure to disagree with you?

We understand this is your list, but you need to understand it's not necessarily our list.
