One of my FAVE ladies of song....

I have this habbit of avoiding veteran soul singers who come back with a new album, mostly because I want to perserve my fond memories of their talent(given the fact that many lose their voices, or in Ron Isley's case, give in to the radio airplay mind games which result to materials that are waaaaaaaay below their talent).

However, to my surprise, I found her albums "His Hans (2006)" and "Who's Hurting Now? (2009)" to be greatly enjoyable.

Anybody else a fan of this great lady?

Much respect to Mr.Bobby Womack, but I don't even think he did this one the way Miss Candi took it home

Can't forget her version of "In the ghetto"...Masterpiece if you ask me!

I saw her last year at Wickerman Festival in Scotland, amazing! To my delight she plays lots of songs from her early recordings on Fame Records such as this, my all-time favourite Candi song...

Yep, Harlepolis, I'm a fan too! Thing about some of the veteran singers is that even when they lose some of their range or whatever, they still sound better than a lot of the new ones who depend on all kinds of help and still don't sound like much.
