well I love them...but I dont own any of thier albums...I was thinkin about starting to collect them...then this weekend I find out they got a new band ! woot!

I hope Billy comes up with some more different stuff, I always kinda thought he would touch on all kinds of music like Prince...NOT like Princes style but in the same quirky ..well you know what I mean

Billy Corgan is a good songwriter.

I read that this album is more positive than the smashing's album .

Billy said that the album is spiritual , Billy and Jimmy (the drummer) believe in God and a lot of songs talk about faith.

I am very excited to hear the Zwan album! I was/am a huge Pumpkins fan and I consider Billy C. a superb songwriter!

I was really depressed when the Pumpkins called it quits but they really were at the end of their rope...

Many may disagree but I think MACHINA/MACHINES OF GOD (their last released album) was among their best work...songs like "The Imploding Voice" and "Eye Of The Morning" are so seductive to the ear...and "Stand Inside Your Love" is among their greatest ballads...

I loved all of their albums though...GISH and SIAMESE DREAM are classics and MELLON COLLIE (their epic...at the time considered the 90's "Wall") has some of the best songs I've ever heard...ADORE took a little getting used to...but ended up loving it as well...

For hardcore fans...EARPHORIA, P.ISCARIOT, AEORPLANE FLIES HIGH and MACHINA II...were more candy for the ear...(who else would sit through 14 minutes of 'Silverfuck'???)

Love the Pumpkins...Love Corgan...will probably love Zwan!

peace...

just me thinking out loud...forgive me...

I used to dig the Pumpkins, well still do I guess. Happened
to be listening to "The Aeroplane flies High" this morning,
and as always it's a love/hate thing with the band. Half of
their songs are incredible. Gripping driven walls of sound
with lyrics resembling an essence of 19th century English
poets. Their best album, to me, is still Melon Collie & The
Infinite Sadness. Best double album of the 90's.

It's all over the map musically and there are enough songs
eft off the album to make up another double disc as cool as
the first one [T.A.F.H.].

The "Zero" Ep must have been my favorit single release of
all time. "Pennies", "God", "The Mouths of Babes" and the
enormous "Pasticho Medley" with that otherworldly guitar
crashing through the speakers at 00:39 seconds into it.

Wow.

However, they did release a fair load of shit as well. For
every few good songs there were also a few horrible ones in
the bag and whenever they played live they were horrible. I
aven't seen or heard a single tape of them being any good
on stage.

I'm a bit disappointed to read that Zwan is a rock band cuz
I had hoped Corgan would continue down this vague, dark,
electronic road with the likes of "Eye" and some of the soft
hummers on "Adore".

But, since I liked the hard edge of Machina and Machina II
a lot as well, I'll check them out anyway.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

ZWAN just proves that the Pumpkins really were a one man's (Billy's) project, they sound exactly the same...so last century!!!

I think that's cool, because I got the vibe in the past that billy had some sort of beef with God (wearing a 666 shirt, some of the lyrics)

I'm happy for billy and jimmy - they get to stare at that bass playing hottie all day

wrong, I think they rather stare at eachother, or even better: Billy lets Jimmy stare at him while he is staring at himself...

TRON

One of my favorite bands. I'm glad he's still writing and putting out material. I still need to pick up the new album though but I have no $ right now. Can't wait to hear what it's like.
