mol, you're wasting your time on this person whoever they are. i have been tempted to respond to some of the major inaccuracies born of his/her tabloid lust, but speaking of pissing in the wind...

for every "doctor" chopra, there is tom mesereau or raymone bain or bodyguards who have categorically stated that mj was NOT A DRUG ADDICT (since some of us like to shout). but whatever. just pass over his/her idiotic posts.

Why would Michael ask a BODYGUARD to write a prescription for him? That's crazy. I wouldn't take the word of a body guard regarding a prescription. Depak is a well respected Dr. who Michael chose to terminate their friendship because he would not write Michael prescription for pain meds. Unlike Murray, Depak was able to say NO, and live with those consequences. The bottom line is none of us were there. Michaels death just as his life will always be filled with speculation and cynicism, and mystery. You choose to believe bits and pieces of what you read and hear, just as I am doing the same. Also I believe the family when they stated that there was an attempted intervention.

But Deepak and his son said they were in contact with Michael when he passed. Deepak's son was working with Michael on a comic book

Deepak's son was perhaps still in contact with Michael. But I saw Deepak on Larry King say that his relationship was damaged with Michael after he refused to write a prescription.

I'm pissing in the wind here. Michael was not an addict he had this miraculous case of killer insomnia that just crept up on him for no apparant reason. And he needed anesthesia to beat it. Nope...nothing suspicious there on Michaels part. He was an innocent victim in this all.

Now with that said. I will just stay tuned for whatever memorials that they have for him. I think this whole estate thing is a mess. Kinda wish there were no kids, no estate, lots of folks getting rich off of Michael in his death. Just as they were in his life.

I see you're not on my level but I'll reply to you one more time.

Ever heard of insomnia caused by stress?

After bankrupcy my uncle was an insomniac for over a decade and, sadly, it ended not with negligence by third parties but with suicide. I just don't see the fuss over him having insomnia. Is it that difficult to understand?

You're implying he was addicted to Propofol and that's why he hired the doctor. A person addicted to it can't even move and yet there are over 100 taped hours of rehearsels. Dr. IOnache confirmed MJ did use Propofol due to severe insomnia but that he had absolutely NO drug addiction. It's not about being the victim or the vilain: it's about seeing things with two eyes.

Jackson was an insomniac (obviously due to the stress of the allegations and other factors in his life non-drug related). I fail to see what is so tough to understand about that. I truly do.

But I see Ree-ree, that you like causing confusion. In the Prince part of the forum, you constantly claim Prince is gay and that you disliked him for a decade. Here, you pass the image of a truly mentally disadvantaged person. You are screaming for attention. It's clear. Deep inside, you know full well that me, Kibbles and Mookie are telling the truth. But you love having MJ fans giving you attention, don't you?

MOL actually, I wish that you in particular would not respond to my posts. And I wish that you in particular would ignore the hell out of me, because I really think you are some sort of a maniac. And it's not just because we disagree about Michael. It's your approach, your whole diatribes, your "War and Peace" novels on Michael and the Jacksons as if you are their long lost son or something. You think you know what happened from a first hand account. You act as if you walked the halls of Neverland and sat in multiple limo rides with the Jacksons after Michael's death. I'm not sure what the Hell you are talking about regarding me "not liking" Prince for a decade. I said something to the effect of not feeling his music as much as I did in the 90's. I think you should go back to whatever thread you got that from and re-read it. And I will not discuss Prince's sexuality in a MJ thread.

He made it seem as if it was shortly prior to his death but he also said that when he attempted to call Michael to give him feedback on the music, Michael had changed his telephone number so I really don't know the timeframe. But he made it clear about Michael obtaining prescription drugs from quacky doctors though. I'm going to see if I can quickly locate the article.

ommodores Re-Record Grammy Award Winning “Nightshift” to Pay Tribute to Michael Jackson on Anniversary of His Passing

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Commodores performed at Wembley Arena in London on June 25, 2009, the night Michael Jackson died. It was a somber experience for the Commodores to hear that news as they walked off the stage. The following night, JD Nicholas substituted the word Michael for Jackie in their performance of their Grammy Award winning song “Nightshift” – that one change brought the audience to their feet. That's where the idea started to re-write the song as a tribute to Michael.

“MICHAEL, he was a friend of mine”

The Commodores and Dennis Lambert (one of the original writers along with Commodores member Walter Orange and Franne Golde) have re-written the lyrics to "Nightshift" and re-recorded it with new lyrics honoring many of the great artists we have lost.

Attached is a copy mp3…We hope that you enjoy it and that radio plays it this Friday in honor of Michael on the one year anniversary of his untimely passing.

Following is an excerpt from the lyrics… Full lyrics are available upon request.

“MICHAEL, he was a friend of mine
For more than forty years, no brighter star did shine
MICHAEL, they call you, “King Of Pop”
But for your gentle soul, the pain would never stop…”

http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-06-23/michael-jackson-estate-decides-to-keep-rights-to-beatles-songs.html

Michael Jackson Estate Decides to Keep Rights to Beatles Songs

June 23 (Bloomberg) -- Executors of Michael Jackson’s estate have decided to keep a 50 percent stake in a music publishing venture with rights to more than 250 songs by the Beatles, two people with knowledge of the situation said.

Since Jackson’s death a year ago, the executors had considered selling the stake in Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC, the estate’s most valuable asset, to address about $500 million of debt the late pop singer left, according to the people, who declined to be identified because deliberations aren’t public.

The decision to keep the business signals the estate can refinance a $300 million loan due later this year, the people said. Sony/ATV, which also holds rights to songs from Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan, is valued at $1.5 billion to $2 billion, making Jackson’s half worth more than enough to settle all the estate’s debt, said Ivan Thornton, a New York-based financial adviser who has worked with Jackson and his family.

One of the executors, Los Angeles entertainment attorney John Branca, who represented the singer for much of his recording career and negotiated Jackson’s original purchase of the Beatles catalog, has been trying to avoid selling the publishing business because of its long-term value and the consistent revenue it generates, the people said.

In an e-mail sent days after Jackson’s death on June 25 last year, Branca said the Sony/ATV stake “is not for sale.” Still it was never certain a sale could be averted because the $300 million loan to Jackson, which was refinanced by Barclays PLC, is guaranteed by the Sony/ATV stake.

Millions Generated

Since Jackson died at the age of 50, his estate has generated over $250 million, with about $125 million coming from sales of Jackson’s own recordings, $60 million from an advance for the “This is It” theatrical documentary, about $35 million from music publishing, and more than $50 million from merchandise such as video games, one of the people said.

As a result, slightly less than $200 million of the estate’s debts have been paid and there’s certainty among executors that the loan can be refinanced, the people said. The estate has more than $50 million in cash on hand, they added.

Sony Corp. has an option to purchase one half of Jackson’s stake for $250 million, and also has the right of first refusal to purchase the entire stake, according to one of the people. Jimmy Asci, a spokesman at Sony/ATV, declined to confirm that those options exist.

Unreleased Songs

The Sony/ATV stake is expected to generate more than $10 million this year for the estate and beneficiaries, including Jackson’s 80-year-old mother and his three young children, according to one of the people

The estate also expects to receive additional DVD revenue from “This is It,” which was released by Sony Pictures in October 2009, one of the people said.

Jackson’s oldest brother, Jackie Jackson, is working with co-executor John McClain on an upcoming album of 10 unreleased songs by Jackson, said one of the people. McClain is a long-time family friend and former head of urban music at DreamWorks. McClain didn’t respond to e-mails seeking comment.
