The only thing that gave me some degree of doubt is that at the very end...he takes his entire arm and wipes his tears. I mean Chris...you already broke down on stage, couldn't you wait until you got behind stage to wipe your face. That arm / face wipe just looked a bit...well fake to me.
Chris Brown was as big of an MJ fan as anyone out there. MJ had a direct influence on Chris and it was widely known. Which is why he did such an execellent job impersonating him. Jermaine introduced him.
Hell, fake or not.... everybody needs to be forgiven at some point. We can't banish the boy to hell at this early stage. The boy was only 19 when he did what he did. It was terrible and I hope that he's not an Ike Turner in the making but I'll hold out on my usual skepticism and give him one more chance. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

I think Chris did an excellent job. I'm not surprised about the lipsynch. Not everyone can perform and sing the way that MJ could. That was truly a gift that MJ had. Chris Brown has the potential to be a great showman. He needs a lot of work with his vocals, he may never be a great singer, but like Janet Jackson his showmanship will make up for his mediocre singing. I want to see more of him, so we need to stop hanging the BOY for his mistakes (as if we don't have our own) and let hm move on and become a man and give him a chance like we wanted the world to do with MJ.

Should we hold a name contest for them?
I suggest "Jerroyalty" and "Jernobility"
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Great idea!
Damn; Jermaine's penis has done damages again!
I vote for "Jerroyalty". How many kids does he have...that we know of, since, just like Poppa Joe, Jermaine has his share of bastard kids?

Jermaine said he's going to name them Mecca and Medina. Their girls.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I smell more child support lawsuits on the way within 4 years.
The girls' names reflect Jermaine's ego.
Mecca, as we all know, is Islamism's Vaticano while Medina is the city where Prophet Mohammed is buried. What about normal, regular and sometimes boring names like...Mary, Elaine, Katherine...???
Unknown bastard kids aside, Jermaine has...9 kids (if my memory serves me well). He's almost beating Joe's record. Unkown bastard children aside, Joe has 12 children (don0't forget about Brandon, Joh' Vonnie and Donte).

Jermaine needs to keep his ______ in his pants, or at least keep it covered with something. He already has like 10 kids. I think like 1 or 2 are adopted. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

You are kidding, right?
Really, since I had learnt that they named their TV Episodes "The Jacksons: A Family DYNASTY" I thought nothing those broths would ever do could shock me again.
But I admit "MECCA" got me

Someone who went to the Forever Michael Memorial event that Katherine was a part of gave their recap of went on that night: I was there as well, and know much more about this event than most. $500 got you dinner, choice of chicken, salmon or vegetarian. 2 bottles of wine on the table to be shared by everyone. You got 2 drink tickets. Everything else was cash bar. About 300 people bought it. $150 got you in. No food, cash bar. Mostly standing room only, but there were maybe 200 people there. About 20 people dressed as Michael. Promoters were hawking t-shirts for $15. Katherine had agreed to be there to sell her books for $50 each, but, I guess that didn't happen. Tito and his band were amazing. Mickey Rooney was great. Chi-Lites, after they warmed up and could finally hit notes, were great. The rest of the talent that night was awful. They had 5 kids up there that were supposed to be the NEW Jackson 5 or something, and they sounded like they were singing to a different song than what was playing. I'll give kids a break, but if you're performing at a Michael Jackson event, you should have the talent. Then, some guy who is supposed to be huge in Norway performed singing impersonations. Yeah, it was as great as it sounds. Prince was supposed to sing. So was Chris Brown. But, nothing was ever official. My guess is that the promoter put that rumor out to justify people paying $150. What they got for $150 was Corey Feldman and the chick from the "Way You Make Me Feel" video. Who still looks really hot. For a venue that packs people in for the Golden Globes (about 1500 people), this place was DEAD. Michael Jackson's Housing Debt Weighs on Estate, Heirs Jun 30th 2010 @ 11:22AM
Michael Jackson lives on through a mountain of real estate debt still on the books at the one-year anniversary of his passing. Due to this and other deficits, his personal estate's money woes remain steep and still affect the family members he left behind.
With little liquidity floating around, eyes are on Jackson's real estate holdings. So far, the Jackson family home, a 5-bedroom 7-bathroom, 10,476-square-foot home at 4641 Hayvenhurst Ave; in Encino, Calif., where his mother, Katherine, lives, has managed to avoid foreclosure.
But just in the nick of time. The save comes thanks to the roughly $200 million that the singer has brought in posthumously in the 12 months following his death. But while renewed popularity in Jackson's music has helped pay off debt, by no means are his plethora of properties in the clear -- a harsh reality that could affect Jackson's three children and his 80-year-old mother.
Come December 2010, the pop star's estate is expected to fork over $300 million of the $500 million debt that the Smooth Criminal and Thriller singer owes due to over-the-top spending throughout his life and, most excessively, in his final years. By the end of 2010, Barclays PLC expects the matured $300-million loan that they gave Jackson to be paid in full. In addition to the Encino home, Jackson's other costly and famed real estate is his Neverland Ranch at 5225 Figueroa Mountain Road in Los Olivos, Calif., a property that sits on 2,676 acres near Santa Barbara.
Neverland was bailed out of foreclosure by Colony Capital LLC, an L.A. real estate investment firm that bought the note and placed the estate in a joint venture with Jackson back in 2008. (Colony takes care of the ranch's overhead, maintenance and tax costs.) It's currently not for sale and experts say it most likely will not be converted into a tourist attraction like Graceland, Elvis Presley's opulent pad. There's also the family's home from Michael's childhood in Gary, Ind., at 2300 Jackson St. A condo owned by Jackson near the Encino enclave was four months late on loan payments and homeowner dues, so was also allegedly in danger of foreclosing until it was recently paid off. At the time of his death, Jackson was living in a rented mansion in Holmby Hills, a high-end L.A. neighborhood near Bel Air.
Despite his various financial holdings, at the time of his death Jackson was plagued with unpaid bills. The Encino home, which was slated to foreclose on the day after Jackson died, had outstanding debts that included thousands of dollars in utility bills. Several months had passed without anyone, be it Jackson, his mother, or any other Jackson family members making a payment. Besides Katherine and the singer's three children, the offspring of two of Michael's brothers also live in the family home.
For a family that has amassed such massive wealth, the Jacksons were in danger of being without running water because of only $9,000 owed to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Their phone/cable/internet service was nearly disconnected because $1,300 was left unpaid. Another lesson, perhaps, on the dangers of overextending yourself in property ownership.

In all of my life, I have yet to see a child who has as much vocal control as Michael had at such a young age. I'm convinced that no such child exists. Even when little kids can sing, they have trouble with vocal control. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

This is one of the J5 cuts I just have to put on heavy rotation everytime...just soulful voices from Michael at 14 years old. Classic! Even though Looking Through The Windows from 1972 wasn't one of their strongest works, it still had some slamming jams on there and this is one of them. It's one of my favorites. I've been taking my time with each J5 album. They were so much more than the four #1s, Never Can Say Goodbye, and Dancing Machine
Children Of The Light is another favorite of mine from Looking Through The Windows "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Ah yes, Children of the Light is another gem. I've been playing Looking Through The Windows, Skywriter and Get It Together alot lately also and there are just gems on these albums that deserve to be rediscovered. Get It Together has become one of my favorite J5 albums...actually I've come to conclude that its one of their greatest recordings. G.I.T, Don't Say Goodbye Again, Hum Along and Dance, It's Too Late to Change The Time, You Need Love Like I Do...WOW! Check me out and add me on:

He looked so content here. One would never ever assume what he was "going through" or had "gone through" by looking at this picture. This is how MJ looked when I had my biggest crush on him. The look captured in this picture, and the picture on the cover of the Off the Wall album gave me crushes as a child. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. I had hoped that after the anniversary I would stop crying a river every day like a clock, but noooooooo. And I am not so very "young and sentimental" and was not exactly the biggest fan of him.
What happened to him was just... SO incredibly unfair

Thanks for your insight Dag
You might be right in "fans" only taking the positive, and haters latching onto the negative - but the example you gave of the radio DJ mouthing off came across as sensationalist and I think anyone objective would by the time this guy got on realised he was more shock-jock than informed source.
As for why LMP wasn't on it, maybe she wasn't asked - or maybe she didn't want to be part of it.
In all I think the documentary was surprisingly positive and I think for the average viewer it would have helped inform them of Michael's live and made them question their judgements.
As for haters - they will always hate and can't have their minds changes. Just as those fans who think Michael never did anything wrong. Both sides are extremes and won't have their minds changed. Most people however would have viewed it mostly with an open mind, and one would assume at the end would have come out with a positive view of Michael.
Anyone else view the whole thing? Thoughts? "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"
