Well, she can sing better than most Proteges that Prince has signed. Vanity, Apollonia cannot sing nor act. Let alone Prince can't even act either but he makes a great knob on a Scotsman's dick

Auto-Tuned
You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

I know, stereotypically, as a gay male, I should like her voice (lol), but I have never been into Cher. Now, I do have about 4 of her songs in my library, but that's it. Someone here mentioned that she is unique and that she is. We all are in some way, but her voice is indeed unique and no one I know sounds like her. I think a good number of her songs are auto tuned, but a good number of them are not. I will have to check out some of her early work. Maybe I would like something. Hey! I bought some Macy Gray recently for the first time, so you never know:) Definitely love Cher as an actress like some here have stated, but her voice is pretty low on my singer's list.

I love her much more as an actress. She's done some wonderful films. I love her older material.

Yep, very distinct, love it. Not a fan of all of her material, though. My favorite era is the Geffen "rock years", 1987-1995-ish, never cared much for "Believe" and everything that came after that. Just like the white winged dove...

Love her voice and want her to do more rock songs. I think her voice has gotten better over the years.

No. I like Cher more as an actress than a singer.

Are you asking if she can actually sing or if my ears bleed when I hear her sing? Space for sale...

She wasn't always auto-tuned. I love the old songs.
When I was a little girl, I was fascinated with her outfits, and the fact that her voice wasn't like everyone else's. I have a very husky voice, and I liked that I could sing along to her songs!
I like her as an actress. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Not at all! | |

WTF @ all the auto-tune comments. She sings her whole show live and does a damn good job at it. The only part she fakes are the computerized verses to "Believe," but she does the chorus live. You people should watch clips of her farewell tour dvd.

I like her voice. I knew how she sounded long before "Believe" anyways.

Of course she wasnt
She was the first artist 2 use autotune You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

And? At the time it was a funky new thing... Now it's overused and used by people who might not otherwise sing.
Cher was singing without it for years... "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Thank you. The woman had a successful singing career long before auto-tune,
Her voice and style are quite distinctive. Cher might not be everyone's taste but she is a bona-fide talent both as a singer and actress.

You know, I'm seriously thinking we need peeps ages posted along their user names cause some of these children are puffing up their chests when they haven't the slightest clue what they are talking about and they are soo damn cocky about their opinion being right, without doing the damn research prior to spewing their diarrhea of the mouth. This whole argument reminds me of Adam Lambert and how the young queens consider him to be the first out gay artist...totally ignoring Elton John, Sylvester, George Michael, Rufus Wainwright and a handful of others. Historical accuracy can be a mutha some time. Space for sale...
