Ziggy Stardust comes to DVD & CD, (thanks Virgin!) 'Ziggy Stardust' Leaps To DVD, CD
David Bowie's former record label Virgin Records will on April 1 release "Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars --The Motion Picture" on DVD, as well as a two-CD soundtrack. The film, which was briefly re-released to theaters last year, has been digitally remastered, and the soundtrack has been remixed for stereo and 5.1 Surround by Bowie's frequent collaborator Tony Visconti. The concert film, recorded in July 1973 at London's Hammersmith Odeon, documents Bowie's retirement of the Ziggy Stardust character. Commentary tracks will be provided by director D.A. Pennebaker and Visconti, who produced Bowie classics "Low" and "Heroes," as well as the recent ISO/Columbia album "Heathen." The soundtrack will be made available separately on CD. The two-disc set will include Bowie's between-song chatter, as well as the full-length version of "The Width of a Circle" and his unedited farewell speech, which announced the retirement of Ziggy Stardust. As previously reported, Bowie will appear Feb. 28 at the 15th annual Tibet House Benefit Concert at New York's Carnegie Hall. Laurie Anderson, Lou Reed, Ziggy Marley, and the Kinks' Ray Davies will also perform. Here is the track listing for "Ziggy Stardust" CD: Disc 1: "Intro" "Hang on to Yourself" "Ziggy Stardust" "Watch That Man" "Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud" "All the Young Dudes" "Oh! You Pretty Things" "Moonage Daydream" "Changes" "Space Oddity" "My Death" Disc 2: "Intro" "Cracked Actor" "Time" "The Width of a Circle" "Let's Spend the Night Together" "Suffragette City" "White Light/White Heat" "Farewell Speech" "Rock'n'Roll Suicide" ---------------------------------

Yassassin bootlegs. (PS: "Yassassin = Turkish for "long live") | |
