Producer: Beyoncé Often Handed Songwriting Credits

jInIN.jpg

July 2010

While Beyonce isn't exactly strong-arming her way into songwriting credits, she may have some writing credits handed to her.

According to "Video Phone" and "Diva" producer Bangladesh, she is often not even in the same room with her supposed co-writers.

"It really doesn't matter if Beyoncé is actually sitting there physically writing the song," Bangladeshrevealed in a video over the weekend.

He admits, however, that Beyoncé's absence from writing sessions is often just a matter of scheduling.

"Even if she's not, it doesn't mean she can't," he said. "She might not have the time. It doesn't matter, because you can work with artists who write, or work with artists that are Beyonce's level."

The producer went on to say that songwriters and producers just want to opportunity to work with her and have their name linked to hers.

"At the end of the day, she's on a level where things are handed to her," he said. "People want to be a part of what she's doing. She either wrote it, or she can put her name on it - it doesn't matter because that's the type of boss you are."

He's not saying anything new.

Anyway, is this the same guy who gave Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce the same track?

Disgusting cunt. She has no professional morals.

Taking credit for other people's work so she can get a cut of the publishing.

I don't get why their isn't a songwriting union to prevent ish like this. Film Directors would be burned to hell if they attempted what she (and others like Elvis, this whole deal ain't new) do.

She has never pretended to write whole songs. She always says that she co-writes with others or gets songs sent to her and she changes aspects of it. Songwriting isn't just writing the lyrics. It's about the melody and the instruments as well. For example, Ne-Yo's version of Irreplaceable is completely different to Beyonce's because she added drums and the vocal arrangement is different.

That's not completely accurate. There is a difference between writing a song and arranging a song, just like there's a difference between producing, writing, and arranging in general. Well at least in the good ol' days, when music was worth a fuck, there were differences. Writers, arrangers, and producers knew their role because they knew their craft. Now, a lot of artists want to be labeled a (co)writer or (co)producer just for the sake of hype, money, and ease on the administrative and financial aspects...a la Beyonce.

Exactly. And the whole point in this is that this chick has always and still claims that she WRITES. Which she doesn't.

I can't say I blam her or her management team. It's more money in her pocket. If the writers are fool enough to give her a credit, then u can't fault her.

This is true for MOST big artists. Its a hard fact to face if you place a lot of value on your own merits.

Make sure you are getting a FAT ass check for your work and keep pushing. The truth of the matter is, in the case of pop stars, the song is less important than the artist. Pop music is about image building. As long as you know you will get money if the song is redone by another artist and you are getting paid, all should be accepted.

The solution to not sharing credit is to simply not sell your song and either do it yourself or hire a singer to do it for you. You won't make the dough, but it'll be yours (for what its worth).

Beyoncé does and has publicly credited other writers on quite a few occasions. That doesn't mean that everyone in her camp is getting a fair shake. I think her dad is probably more responsible for trying to hog as much credit as possible for her than Beyoncé herself is.

I think everyone knows by now that Beyonce ain't no type of true songwriter, and if she really wants to take credit for writing those tacky lyrics she sings (it's too strong, it's too wide, it's too big, it won't fit, he has a big....ego), then go on, honey! hmph!

THAT is the case! nod

Matthew "Kut-Throat" Knowles has been jacking songwriters, producers, & beatmakers for credits to give to his little princess for years. This is old news.
