The Hits Just Keep On Comin': Music Publishers Sue LimeWire

Adding to its legal woes, peer-to-peer file-sharing service LimeWire has been sued for copyright infringement by member companies from the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA), which represents songwriters and music publishers.

A similar lawsuit filed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) against LimeWire and its executives recently saw a court find LimeWire guilty of infringement and other charges.

Last month, the company asked the court to reconsider its summary judgment decision in favor of the record labels.

LimeWire has also said recently that it has held talks with record labels, seeking to license their works in a bid to create a fully legal service -- but so far it appears nothing has come of those discussions.

"We have had many promising meetings with labels, publishers, and artists alike about our new music service and a business model that will compensate the entire industry," a LimeWire spokesperson said in a statement.

Meeee. wave lol Although I haven't been using it lately. Which probably is a damn good thing, in light of the music publishers lawsuit.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

They need to leave LimeWire alone. They are helping to run the labels out of business and that's a good thing.

Go ahead and sue-away, lol. LimeWire is probably one of the least effective ways of obtaining music & movies, and is basically nothing but a virus-magnet anyway, lol. I haven't even used LimeWire in nearly a decade, lol. So go ahead Music Publishers, take it away! Only about a dozen other BETTER methods of obtaining files will take it's place, lol.

They thought they got rid of ThePirateBay too, and that shit was back online the very next day, on servers secretly hidden across the globe, lol. The more they try to shut down file-sharing, the smarter file-sharing becomes. Like the Hydra, lol. Cut one of it's heads off and two grow back!
