I don't even like Thriller, but even I can admit her idea of her album being "Thriller Inspired" sounds pathetic and unrealistic. Jesus Cyfer child, what has Jay-z done to you?!!! lol

You see this is my issues with the so-called artists of today, especially in POP and RB (well that is basically the same thing now) but how about FUCK this "thriller inspired" or "Sign o the times Inpsired" "Aretha inspired" etc...Stop hyping your bullshit to get us intrigued, DO THE FUCKING MUSIC and shut up, i dont care who you grew up listening too, i really dont care. People put to much stock into these quotes and the artists think because they said it, they or the quotes are relevant, they are not. When Prince did Purle Rain or MJ did Thriller, did they say this is so and so inspired, when George Michael did Fatih did he say, damn this one is just like _____ did, no they didnt, because they were the main attraction, YOUR music should be what i want, not what you HYPE it to be, too many run out and buy shit and say "hey she said it was going to be like MJ" or "he said he was going back to Prince sounding stuff" give it up.

Well, i gotta admit that I'M GLAD that there's still one producer who still cares for strong albums with no filler; the problem is: we all know that it ain't gonna happen; Rihanna's music is too predictable, you just can't write 12 strong melodies and 12 strong choruses anymore, specially if your style is synth-pop/shit-hop rolleyes

And I agree with those who say that her idea of a Thriller-inspired album is to borrow heavily from it; ... -Rihanna: "Ok my dear producer, I want some dance singles (Billie Jean, BBM, PYT), one respectable freakout (WBSS), a couple of ballads (Human Nature, LIML), one rocky song for the white male teens (Beat It), one collaboration with Wayne or whatever (Girl is Mine) and one epic centerpiece (Thriller)." rolleyes

Hell, I mean , postmodernism and influences are good, but some originality is good as well...

I'm seriously, there's only like two songs I like from that album. Anyway, Off The Wall, was and still is his best album he has ever had. lol I actually like his Motown stuff more.

I like Rihanna but so many have taken inspiration from Thriller. Perhaps her label should take it upon themselves to recognize this fact and that it will not be the best idea.

Her wardrobe can be Thriller inspired. lol

I don't know why I'm hating so hard because the song that made me say 'OK I'm copping GGGB' was "Don't Stop The Music" with the WBSS hook.

It bugs me too when rappers say their album will be like Illmatic, including when Nas says it. lol

That reminds me when Lupe said his first album was inspired by "It Was Written" . rolleyes I like Illmatic, and I really can't stand when people mention that album all the time, and I'm like 'Hello, this muthafucka has been out for like 16 years and had many albums AFTERWARDS'. Damn, those people be acting like this man is a damn one-hit wonder. BTW, Stillmatic was a sequel, so people really need to shut the fuck up about Nas having another Illmatic. lol Nas, himself said he was tired of people telling him to make another Illmatic. lol

I agree with it being her best album to date.

Anyways, he's crazy for thinking she can make an album as good as Thriller. None of the people producing this has done anything that good, especially Ne-yo and The-Dream.

True. I guess Nas himself wasn't really the one hyping his own shit up like that (Except Stillmatic)

You all sound like rabid dogs. Her producers just used Thriller as an example of what she wants. Basically an album full of memorable hits which I doubt will happen. Rihanna is forgettable.

The producer is getting jumped on too. And fuck that don't even use a classic album as a reference, just stop saying you're gonna match what that other album did that's all we're saying. lol
