Only knew him as skinny but I like the pics of him big. he was sexy as a big man. Some people just look better with meat on their bones.

No I'm sure that's ReeRee as a youngster. I forget what year this pic was taken but she was barely in her late teens, possibly around 19 or 20.

Luther when he was alive AND his weight was at mid-range:

It really don't matter. Everyone loved Luther for Luther. People didn't care about his weight, it was all about the music!

Medium-sized Luther.

In all seriousness, he had some pretty stunning stuff all throughout his career, and Dance With My Father was a hell of an album to go out with.

Big Luther of course. To me he seemed to be at his most unhealthiest when he lost a lot of weight...just didn't look healthy. He looked much more healthier when he had some weight on him...but he recorded some of my favorites as big Luther.

Luther addressed this on the BET DVD. He challenged anyone to be able to tell the difference in his voice from "big" to "small".

Regarding Luther, whenever I hear any of his songs from any era, his voice always sounds the same to me. So: I like "any size" Luther.

See when she was younger, right before she got really famous she was small, but a healthy small, know what I mean? She was really nice looking, but as the 60's went on she gained a little here and there, then all of a sudden in the mid 70's she was super skinny. Then of course when she gained little by little of the weight back and then some by the 80's..she blamed it on when she quit smoking cigarettes. Isn't that right?

I wonder what prompted Luther's eating disorder? Clearly he had one to go up and down in weight the way he did.

He had that stomach surgery right? Then he got big again? Wasn't he diabetic also?
