He fels this way he can ad more puch to a movie etc and have amore powerful presence and performance. He gets much dap in the Hollywoord community "now". . They could have just got one of the cast of Snatch or Lock Stock to do it. I hate it how they get American "stars" to put on lame accents when there are more than enough capable British black actors who could handle the role.

Do you mean the scene where they're in the hot tub and Mark Wahlberg's character comes up with the name "Dirk Diggler"? That song is "I Want To Be Free" by The Ohio Players. Magnet And Steel-Walter Egan Thanks Jamie Starr, you are correct.I just watched the film again, and the song that plays during that scene (that Jnoel described) is indeed "Magnet And Steel".I love this song so much that I started a thread about it the other day

I dunno, you tell me. Do you find British actors' fake US accents annoyingly innacurate?

Ellie said: I dunno, you tell me. Do you find British actors' fake US accents annoyingly innacurate?
Id say more often than not, brits do a pretty good job: For example: A large part of the cast of HBOs Band Of Brothers are British actors playing American soldiers. Also Eamonn Walker who portrays Sayeed on OZ is British. Kate Winslet did a pretty good job in Titanic. However as much as I love Emma Thompson , I found her accent in Primary Colors slightly less than convincing (this ,of course might be my fault). Ironicly,I had no idea her castmate Adrian Lester was British ,tho. "...all you need ...is justa touch...of mojo hand....."

Not necessarily annoyingly innacurate in general, no. I don't find American actors' fake British accents annoyingly innacurate in general either. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

June7 said: Other director's who effectively use music 4 their films are: Spike Lee Agreed.Lee has a real knack for picking the right songs for certain scenes.Remember in 'Summer of Sam',when the song "Baba O'Reilly" by The Who is playing? That's actually my favorite part of the entire film. Speaking of 'Summer Of Sam',I've always felt that Lee was heavily inpsired by 'Boogie Nights' when he filmed it.The similarities are obvious. Both films take place in 1977,and they use many of the same songs ("Best Of My Love","Got To Give It Up",etc). Both films are VERY sexual, with unusually explicit sex scenes( in 'Boogie Nights',Mark Wahlberg exposes himself...in 'SOS',John Leguizamo shows off his erection in one scene). There are many other similarities.
