Funny girl appreciation thread

One of my fav musicals. Don`t rain on my parade, my man, people, second hand rose... Wonderful songs, and Streisand was gorgeous in this.

Yes, especially the title track. But the other songs are a little boring i think... lol

However, my favorite Streisand movie is What`s up doc!

A total farce of a movie, and purposely so.

I've memorized, and driven people crazy playing, "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" over and over. I even ripped just the video of the song from the movie and put it on my AppleTV. Of course it being in Wall*E didn't help. If I had the balls, I'd make a video of me miming that song. HA!

But Funny Girl is a very funny film. I think people dismiss Streisand as some gay icon, and forget that the movies she's been part of have been pretty awesome most times.

When I read the thread's title, I knew it was YOU who posted right before I read your scrn name lol

Love BOTH films(Funny Girl & Funny Lady) love

On a side note, I remember watching an Omar Sharif interview from a couple of years ago, the reporter asked him what was the most memorable thing about working with Babs? He said "When she kissed me in one of the scenes right after she nibbled on a fat onion omelette" falloff

People. . . (quivering lip)

People who need people. . .

Are the loneliest people in the World . .

My favorite Streisand movie, 'On A Clear Day You Can See Forever'.

That's "luckiest people" not "loneliest!" lol

"On a clear day

Rise and look around you

You can see who you are...

And on a clear day

How it will astound you

That the glow of your being

Outshines every star..."

"You can see forever

And ever

And evermore!"

Love that song! biggrin
