Am I the only one?

Am I the only one who likes Eddie Murphy's song, "party all the time"? A lot of people usually tend to laught at it, but I actualy like this one, I thought he did a good job.
Maybe I like it because Rick James had something to do with it, but all the same, it's a pretty good song. Anyone agree?

It's unintentionally funny. And that ain't good. Those lyrics are terrible.

But I'm glad you like it. biggrin

Please. If Rick had nothing to do with it you probably wouldn't even give it a second listen. But since he does...

Time to adjust those always pro-Rick colored glasses.

I have all of Eddie Murphy's tapes got them for 99 cents&they came in handy for long games of Uno Numbers style.of course I would have been interested because Stevie WOnder wrote "Everything Comes up Roses" on the Album&Eddie has worked with some top Names on his Projects over the years.10 years back Larry Graham was touring in His Band.no matter what anyone thinks of Rick you can't deny Him as a Writer&Producer&having His Sound.

Wasn't/isn't Murphy a Prince fan?

Anyway, it always seemed to me that he wanted his music career to go through the roof; like, as if, he was going to be the next...Prince! In one of his videos he's standing on a mountain top, or something (I can see the video in my head, but I can't remember the name to the song) . He's got a guitar slung across his back. At some point I guess he strums a few weak cords, too.

That's one of my pet peeves about wannabee guitarists. Some of them find the guitar to be such a cool instrument that they think all they need to do is learn a simple riff and it's move over Hendrix! Teena Marie's "Lover Girl" comes to mind as well.

I didn't want anyone to think that I was hatin' on Lady T. but, that "Lover Girl" video where she's got the guitar slung across her back and the whips it around to strum a few chords, is kinda wannabee Lady Hendrix. smile I'm always suspect of artist known for anything but their lightening licks, suddenly showing up on stage with a guitar for an MTV Unplugged moment. (Lauren Hill and Wyclef come to mind as well.) Don't get me wrong, versatility is cool, it's the pseudo-cool image of strapping on a guitar when you don't have the chops the bothers me just a tad.

If any somewhere down the road any of these artist proves him/herself to be a gifted guitarist I will be like "Right On! Good for you! You proved me wrong."
