Best male/female duets that are not offical groups

Examples...

Keke Wyatt and Avant

Alexander O'Neal and Cherrelle

Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell

Ja Rule and Ashanti wink

Not just one duet but a few songs where the voices blended so well they had to do it again

(group examples would be Ashford and Simpson, Groove Theory, Damian Dame)

Stevie and Don did other songs together?

Okay, here are mine:

Prince and Wendy & Lisa (i'm counting them damn it. LOL)

Seal and Joni Mitchell

Janet and Herb Alpert (not really a duet but well, i love their flow together)

Sheryl Crow and Doyle Bramhall (another that's kind of cheating since he isn't labeled a duet but he's signing along with her on Steve McQueen, just low in the mix.)

Bjork and Thom Yorke

Prince and Kate Bush (wish they'd do a true duet rather then backing vox mixed way way low cause what we do here of their vocals meshing is pure bliss)

Prince & Sheena Easton (swoon)

And he in return mixed her low in My Computer. I've oft wondered if he did that to her in revenge for mixing him so low. LOL

Teena Marie and Rick James (countless classics)

Brandy and Wanya Morris (Brokenhearted)

Brandy and Ray J, (Die Without You) yes I'm going to get some flack for this, but this is actually a beautiful song, they did this cover justice, as a duet to boot.

Jermaine Jackson and Whitney Houston (Take Good Care of My Heart, If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful)

Babyface and Pebbles (Love Makes Things Happen)

Babyface and Toni Braxton (Give U My Heart)

Babyface and Karyn White (Love Saw It)

Prince and Rosie Gaines (Diamonds and Pearls, Nothing Compares 2 U Live, I Will)

Mary J Blige and Method Man (You're All I Need)

Janet Jackson and Luther Vandross (The Best Things in Life Are Free)

Cherelle and Alexander O'Neal (Saturday Love, Never Knew Love Like This)

Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell (You're All I Need to Get By, Ain't No Mountain High Enough)

Joyce Irby and Howard Hewett (I'd Still Say Yes) technically not a duet, but it gets an honorable mention

Michael McDonald and Patti LaBelle - On My Own.

The juxstaposition of Michael woof-growl-woofing through his verses and Miss Patti squealing through hers...I think it might be my favourite duet of all time. biggrin
