I don't know what is up with this subject. lol

I mean people act like his voice changed when he got little or something. lol

Luther was LUTHER. lol Period.

Technically I prefer the 1980-1985 Luther, not because of body mass, but the man had CLASSICS. nod From "Searching" up until "'Til My Baby Comes Home". I also love the 1986-1993 Luther. And I still enjoyed him until the end.

I wished it wasn't the end though. sad

Im with you on that period of Luther's music, after "the night i fell in love" the oomph was missing from his material.

it all became too watered down for me. that said you could never water down that voice

RIP Luther, you are greatly missed

Plus some of the stuff was funky ("Bad Boy", "Never Too Much", "The Glow of Love", etc.) That Luther had classics out the ass. And his covers of "If This World Were Mine", "A House is Not a Home", "Superstar" (which was totally unrecognizable from previous versions) and "Since I Lost My Baby" were just as good.

It really don't matter. Everyone loved Luther for Luther. People didn't care about his weight, it was all about the music!

His early remakes were better than the originals (to me, anyway). The only remake that I think is "weak" prior to 86 was "If This World Were Mine" and it is KILLER. I say it's "weak" only because Marvin and Tammi's version is a masterpiece.
