a-ha premiere new single "Butterfly(the last hurrah)" Monday June 14th On Norway radio (very special video added) a-ha will premiere their final track as a group this monday, it will become available for sale on July5th in Norway through iTunes, the track was written by Paul Wakktaar Savoy and produced and mixed by Martin Terefe who has worked with Coldplay and Magne Furuholmen of a-ha. On tuesday the 15th the cd by Apparatjik will debut through itunes, the group consists of a-ha's Magne Furuholmen, Coldplays Guy Berryman, Martin Terefe and Jonas Bejere of the group Mew. The sound of that band is more industrial, and can be compared as a mix of New Order, Radiohead,a-ha and Coldplay, the group have been doing a show here and there, in between a-ha dates on their final tour. There is a good chance that this "side project" might become more than that, with a-ha disbanding and rumours of the same for Coldplay after the next record.
The new a-ha song "Butterfly(The last hurrah)" will be part of "25" a 36song 2cd retrospective that will be issued in Later September in Norway and the rest of Europe and the UK, no plans for a USA release for either the song or the compilation, due to the band not having american distribution, July 6th will see their first two albums get the "deluxe" work-over, the 2cd sets will be available only at Rhino.com not in stores or iTunes.
20 shows down 50 more to go on the tour. [Edited 6/13/10 14:19pm] "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Hopefully this will be released physically as well. I will be listening in the morning! "My God it's full of Stars"

to be honest i think this set is the one that leaked earlier this year....there was a 2cd best of that was coming out of Russia, it had a new cover, but what seemed more "original" was that the tracks werent edited (like on other issues) and the songs were remastered, which led me to believe that this was going to be the set. However that set had 39 tracks this will have 36 and one is new "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F
