Well, I'm disappointed! I was going to buy tickets to see him and Jill Scott, now I can't! My best friend went to see him several months ago and said the concert was spectacular! Anyone know why he cancelled?!

I think he is tired, and overdid it with the dates from jump. As has been mentioned in some other threads, the next album which was to arrive this summer has been pushed back as well, and I think he just needs a break.

That man isn't up to anything...he's just been touring non stop and needs a break. Everything doesn't have an ulterior motive involved.

Yeah,I think he just needs a break.He's been touring for over a year now.It's great that he's so much "in demand" these days.He's on a roll.

In the music industry it does. An artist just doen't cancel a second leg of a tour unless there is something going on. He obviously is not sick. Because he has done some gigs since that announcement. That is a lot of money at stake. Touring is where an artist makes the majority of there money. So it has to be something going on. Maybe he preparing the triology to come out. Then the record label will release that. A lot goes into releasing an album. Its not just the artist making the decisions. Then maybe after that he can continue his tour.. Nothing is guaranteed in the music industry. So cancelling a tour doesn't mean its going to happen again.

Yeah, I actually didnt think it made much since to tour this summer if he wasnt releasing or playing new material. I looked at some of setlists and essentially he is playing Urban Hang Suite, Black, and a Isley brothers cover which is awfully similar to what he did in 08 and 09. The only real "new" reason to see him, was the addition of Jill Scott and that will end at the close of June. IM curious how the seats were selling for second leg with Fiona...

Brotha could just simply be tired. Keep in mind he had such an extensive break between projects and he has already been out on the road consistently for what, like 2 years nowt???

For me, Maxwell and Scott would be the golden ticket to catch ahold of...if he breaks off with the Fiona and Estelle leg of the tour, I can't say that I'd be disappointed. I'd much rather hear that the next installment of his music trilogy is being worked on, and he can come back to touring in 6 months with a rested voice and new material. Fine by me!

As a person who's actually been on a music tour or two, I can tell you that the body doesn't keep up at the same pace a person could do 5, 6, and 7 years beforehand. If dude wants to rest, and get his shit for the new cd together, then big whoop. Let him do it.

Exactly.

Hate to say it but this has been an awful year for tours, all genres, all levels of popularity. Almost nobody is selling tickets at projected levels. If he's already hit most of these towns in the last 2 years, he may not be able to keep it going.

Not to say that he's good or bad or his popularity is slipping... it's just a tough world out there.
