OMG!

The Commodores was the first concert I ever saw back in 1984 at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey! (J.D. Nicholas was lead singer then. I was the whole time.)

We were on a marching band trip, and the director let us stay at the park late enough to see the show!

Soul...You and I have talked about this "so called" reunion. Wasn't there someone on the org who said awhile ago to "get ready for the funk?"

Lionel already has some solo gigs mapped out this summer.

...oh well...maybe next year...or next decade.

From what I understand,the other guys want to do it,but Lionel is the one who is holding back He goes to the media,talking excitedly about a reunion but when the fellas ask him about it,he acts like he doesn't know what they're talking about.

Haven't the old heads been talking, wishing and praying for this Commodores reunion to take place for years now? I guess my generation will be saying the same about Toni Tone Tony for years to come as well.

Monday, June 08, 2009 Commodores Official Reunion Tour Statement Category: Music COMMODORES OFFICIAL REUNION TOUR STATEMENT We felt it important to clear the air as it pertains to the vast misinformation coming from several camps and many different media sources around the world. The Commodores have always been on the front line when it comes to having an open forum for communication with our past members Ronald LaPread, Thomas McClary, Lionel Richie & the departed Milan Williams. The first "Reunion Tour" discussion took place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles in the late fall of 1990, with a subsequent meeting Dec 27, 1990 in Tuskegee, Alabama. Tuskegee being the city where the group was formed, seemed like the perfect location. Our management organized with the City Government to utilize the old Community Center, and convinced a local band to lend us their instruments and sound system. It was a day that we reminisced, played together and discussed the possibility of mounting the "Reunion Tour". At the end of the day we all decided that it wasn't yet the right time. There have been several conversations between members and managers in the years that followed, but nothing of any consequence over the past couple years. There is not an interviewer anywhere in the world that doesn't ask us this "Can we expect a Commodores reunion tour in the future?" question and we are confident that Lionel Richie, perhaps the other two x-members as well are asked this question daily. It has been both camps (Commodore's & Richie's) policy to never say no to the possibility, but by the same token to not say yes until the logistics of a deal of this magnitude have been consummated and we have collectively announced the global outing with all the participants present at an International Press Conference. The final word - As much as we would like to see this through to fruition, unless officially announced or confirmed by the Commodores (Walter "Clyde" Orange, William "WAK" King, James Dean "JD"Nicholas), there is no Commodores Reunion Tour. Lionel Richie has indicated in interviews as recently as May 18, 2009 Billboard Magazine that this possibility is well on its way to becoming reality, a false claim at the very least. The article reads - Lionel Richie says his anticipated reunion with iconic group the Commodores is coming soon. In fact, the "Go" singer believes we'll hear a "rumble" by year's end. "I think right now might be the proper time" Richie told Billboard Monday. "I can honestly tell you before the end of the year, for sure, you'll hear a rumble". If he didn't perform stuff like "Too Hot Ta Trot","Slippery When Wet" and "I Feel Sanctified",I wouldn't even go to the show!
