Still too calculating though. Its like she has to be different and look different ALL THE TIME. Its becoming formulaic and predictable.

In interviews, she seems very serious which either indicates a total lack of sense of humour (considering how odd she often looks etc..), or she is deliberately being po faced and serious which makes her fake.

anyone else think in this video that Gaga looks like a younger, blond Liza Minelli? lol

anyway, I just think she is trying too hard to constantly "outdo" herself each time.

"I struggle with my feelings about the Church in particular....in terms of religion, I'm very religious. I was raised Catholic. I believe in Jesus. I believe in God. I'm very spiritual. I pray very much. But at the same time, there is no one religion that doesn't hate or speak against or be prejudiced against another racial group or religious group, or sexual group. For that, I think religion is also bogus. So I suppose you could say I'm a quite religious woman that is very confused about religion. And I dream and envision a future where we have a more peaceful religion or a more peaceful world, a more peaceful state of mind for the younger generation. And that's what I dream for."

confused Uh, okay; see there was God before religion and there will be God after religion is gone so why give a shit about being religious when it really won't matter in the end anyway. She needs to forget religion and just live by faith because what she's hoping for will never happen unless she starts her own religion..... eek oh shit! pray There really isn't anything to be confused about when you come to realize that most religions were more than likely made up by homophobic, misogynistic males. Many religions don't even feel that women are equal to men so why would they respect gay people and treat them as equals? God made us all and loves us all equally...that's all the younger generation needs to know. All she did with this video was probably get herself banned from the Catholic church. We all remember how pissed the Pope was when Madonna made Jesus a black man, danced in front of burning crosses, and exhibitied stigmata on her hands in the 'Like A Prayer' video. Oh well, there's always Kabbalah, Gaga. nod

Honestly, if she had not explained the meanings behind this video's imagery I would have thought that it was either: soft core porn or an homage to Madonna. Seriously, didn't Madonna already do this back in the early 90s? confuse How can words like 'creative' and 'innovative' be attached to imagery and ideals that were being done over 10 years ago? It's like 'Justify My Love' except it won't get banned. I guess these are different times because this would have aired once on MTV and never been seen again back in the 90s. All I can say is that this song and video are much better than that hot mess 'Telephone'. Now that was a total waste of 9 minutes. At least this was only a waste of 4 minutes and actually had a point. C+ All just my twocents

Gaga is only 24, she's an artist and she is examining her own confusion this way. I'm sure she'll realise what you've said here soon enough (I agree with you btw)

That's the key to understanding Gaga: listen to her.

Not really, i guess Ga Ga is smarter than CA and knew she was doing a copycat Album and Video of her style which as we know take's alot from Madonna 80's style.....

It was more a way of showing CA how to do a video the right way..... lol using Madonna's 80's style as a background.... lol

Cheeky = Yes

In Your Face CA = Yes

Someone who studied Madonna, Prince, MJ, Bowie, the 80's very well and understands the power of glam, image, video's, style, fashion, hype = Full Marks A Star ! lol

She peaked at Bad Romance video-wise. Everything after that has been her trying too, too hard to be artistic and trying to out-do herself. She needs to tone it down, separate herself from Madonna, and do a fun video for once.

I thought "Telephone" was a fun video, but I know what you mean? BTW, when I first saw it I thought this was bound to irritate off conservatives AND straight male Three Stooges fans (or basically ALL Three Stooges fans)! And if you're both, you'll be really steamed! I mean, I don't think it would be offensive to say those guys where all Moes. It would be a much funnier video if they were all Larry Fines. And I am disappointed that there was no product placement.

You know what's odd, the FIRST thing that came to mind when I first head "Alejandro" especially with the beat was Ace of Base then the lyrics came and the melody and it was like:

"Tropical the island breeze
All of nature wild and free
This is where I long to be
La isla bonita
And when the samba played
The sun would set so high
Ring through my ears and sting my eyes
Your Spanish lullaby"

Then I head the ABBA song "FERNANDOOOOOOOOOO" lol

It was like "wow this song sounds like so many songs it makes no sense." lol

Yeah.

As for the video. I don´t know. I´d give thums up to the camera man or something, but why the only theme that all the "artist" can come up with is sex and violence. bored

Let me know when she comes up with some depth.

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Didn't like the video. Just a bunch of rip-offs of various older artists, mainly Madonna. Plus the video, which is pretty dark does not suit the feeling of the song at all (which has a light and summertime vibe)

The only Madonna reference I really caught was "Vogue" with the similar black/white lighting and barrel-bra.

It is not suppose to make sense right away. The images are subliminal messages that your subconscious will record and accept.

There is a message there.

Intelligent people talk about ideas. -->Average people talk about things. --> Small people talk about other people.

I was saying if you play in a band you could do a "mix" in the setlist from going from the Lady Gaga song into this.

It wasn't in reference it being a uh, homage.

Thank you. It was even noted that the video was Rhythm Nation-esque before it even came out. The video is great, but that opening sequence is pure Janet.
