Isn't it true that Ronald and Rudolph own the rights to the Isleys catalog? If so, how could they allow Marvin to die nearly penniless?

Wasn't Ron also collecting O'Kelly's royalities too??
- E-mail - orgNote - ![]() |
If fact, him and along with Ernie & Chris, were the sole writers of their 70's stuff [Edited 6/8/10 16:22pm]

........and the fact that Ronald was still receiving AND cashing O'Kelly's royality checks!

Yeah from what I read when it came time to get royalties, Pullman Bonds only signed it in Ronald's and Rudolph's name (and O'Kelly's estate). The other Isleys and Chris Jasper didn't get jack besides songwriting royalties they were already collecting due to samples. Seem whatever money Marvin got was used to pay for treatment.

Marvin's girlfriend at the time was using him. According to Ronald, this woman went as far as getting Marvin to turn on Ronald while she was taking Marvin's money behind his back.

^^ Well damn I didn't know that!!!

Damn, that's horrible. Never trust a skank bitch.

I would hope Marvin made his peace with his bros before he died.

I remember this track. Didn't know they had a video for it. I always thought Chris sung lead on this. Cool song and video. Don't laugh at my funk

The one thing that some fans are not aware of is that "The Isley Brothers" & "T-Neck Records" copyrights/trademarks are owned by Ronald, Rudolph, & O'Kelly (via estate) only. The same men are also register as THE original founders of The Isleys' song catalog.

all of you just calm down with the rumors. everybody got taken care of on the money side, the problem here is that the isely brothers has hooked up with women that pushes them to make silly things with their hard earned money.

I heard he had a couple of heart attacks.
- E-mail - orgNote - ![]() |
I didn't know that Rudolph had been ill. I hope him and Ronald gets better. I hope Ronald doesn't get too consumed with trying to stay relevant(new r&B) when he is already relevant and take care of himself first. I know he is doing a show soon in Chicago where there is certain to be a tribute to Marvin. Don't laugh at my funk

Yeah I think Rudy had a stroke too... I could've sworn I saw him talking about it (someone who claimed to be close to the Isleys gave me the link to what he said at the time). We know Ronnie's been struggling with some kidney failure for some time.

Widow of Marvin Isley calls him 'great family man'
CHICAGO — The widow of Isley Brothers' bassist Marvin Isley says her husband was a "great family man" who always acted like she had the more high-profile job as a United Airlines flight attendant.
Marvin Isley died Sunday of diabetes at an inpatient hospice in Chicago at age 56.
Sheila Isley said Tuesday that she met her husband on a plane 20 years ago and she immediately told her co-workers she would marry him. She was right.
Marvin Isley stopped performing in 1996 after his diabetes caused him to have a stroke. He lost the use of his left hand and doctors had to amputate his legs.
He joined his brothers' band in 1973 after the band had scored hits like 1959's "Shout."
