Janet....mostly because she changed the game when it comes to stage performances. Before Janet got big, Madonna just danced around with not a lot of direction and rolled on the floor in wedding dresses. After Janet did a string of amazing performances during the Control era, all of the female performers changed their game (Madonna included).

janet. Janet's more of a natural. Beyonce is a wild buck. Madonna is and always was an overrated dancer.

I'd have to go with Janet and Britney. I dont get why people laugh at the last choice. Have people forgotten or just not ever watched the way Britney used to dance? Of course she sucks now but back in the day she was awesome. And just like Michael and most other performers its her rarer concert footage you really need to watch to see how good she was. Why do entertainers tend to tone down the dancing for the masses on tv shows and such I dont get it. Watching even Janet dancing on high profile shows doesnt make her seem like that great a dancer either.

This thread is like a throwback to the 1980s when people (mostly kids) were asking these type of questions. The most successful female pop artist was thought in terms of being "the best female singer in the world" or even "the most beautiful woman in the world" - she had to be, she was selling the most records!

There are tens of thousands of professionally trained dancers in the world that are better dancers than the three listed here. Neither MJ nor JB were on their level, but they had a distinctive body language that often made them more interesting to look at than most hired professionals in music videos etc. You have a little bit of the same thing in Janet Jackson, due to rather obvious reasons.

Madonna - she's unique, has her own style and stands out from other dancers from her professional training background. Her poise and shapes are amazing. Plus her charisma and presence blow everyone else right out of the water.

Each are brilliant and has their own style, I just prefer Madonna's.

Watch 'Express Yourself' from the Blond Ambition tour if in doubt of her ability.

I love Janet but her dancing has not changed for a minute a lot of shoulders and fist...no foot work...but before you flame my ass....I started out by saying I love her....Now as far as a catwalker...that bitch has that shit on lock down!!!!!!!!...it's ridiculously sexy....refer to Son of a Gun video with Missy....that is my shit right there! Now for last let me once again say that Aaliyah's imagery was like no other...she was in a class ALL by herself....I think also is Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes life was not cut so short and she developed her solo career we would have witness some "WHOA" moment from both of these ladies....what a shame.

Michael. All 3 have copped his moves.

I'd say though Janet is the best, in terms of just pure movement and watching her dance is like watching an animal come out of its cage. it's so raw and hungry (no pun intended).

Madonna however does more innovative stuff, and i think her shows and videos are easier to watch, because it's less drill sargeant / dance routines. It's more like creative movement, planned. and then she can go all classical or tango or bob fosse...

Beyonce has much improved but is still not even J.Lo or Pink or probably even Brandy on the dancefloor.

Britney Spears can't dance PERIOD Even in her prime she was as stiff as a board. She can't even do any leg movements so she relies on flinging her arms in the air in all her dances. And there's a problem when ALL her dancers are far ahead of her.

britney spears in her prime was a better dancer than Janet & Madonna. Beyonce is best of the three.
