Drop one of the fifty slow songs and add this to the mix and Prejudice could have been as huge as Faith. Well, it could have been half as huge. lol

LWP was never going to be as huge as Faith. That's OK, though, because it's an even better album.

This is a cool song. I hope all of the Vol. 2 outtakes come to light soon.

Is this actually a video that was shot for the song?

Listen without Prejudice would have been as big as Faith (if not bigger) if he released it as one project and actually promoted it (I heard he was burnt out from the Faith Tour and promotional campaign). Any album with Freedom and Too Funky as (lead) singles would have been a big hit. Mother's Pride & Praying for Time were great tracks if a little 'preachy' (for a top 40 artist), Cowboys and Angels was good if a little AC, Waiting for that Day was average. Add the cover of They Won't Go and some songs I haven't heard yet (in the process of downloading) like Crazyman Dance, Thank You and Happy and you've got one of the best pop albums of the 90's.

I think George made the mistake of trying to be too bold\ambitious with his project. "Praying for Time" as the first single, no tour, some sure hits left on the shelf and little promotion. I wonder how things could\would have been different...

Sorry, the album is weighted down IMHO by all the slow songs.

So far, from the unreleased "Listen Without Prejudice Vol 2", we have

Disco

Too Funky

Happy

Do You Really Want To Know

Crazyman Dance

I'm not sure if Fantasy was considered for it...

Faith is great, but LWP will always be his best record. The slow songs are fantastic - Praying For Time, They Won't Go When I Go, Cowboys & Angels, Mother's Pride and Waiting are all perfect!

I've listened to the song a half dozen times and read the lyric sheet. It's a good club song but not even as good as "Fantasy" which I think was a great B-side. I don't think that this would have worked on LWP. He made the right call...I think it would have worked on Older. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to save this as an mp3.

I think you got it perfectly correct Tron! Even though it is a short song Waiting (reprise) is almost untouchable. I have felt that kind of pain and played this song thousands of times! When he opened the last tour with this song, I knew it would be a great night!

I think people are a little mistaken here. This wasn't intended for LWP. It was meant for the sequel which was a much more upbeat, funky, dancy affair. It sounds just like the rest of what he was doing in '92.

I think we are all aware of the fact there was a LWP Vol 1 & 2. I don't know for a fact if they were recorded during the same sessions but they sure sound like you could put them side by side not be able to tell the difference. I, for example, was saying it would have been better as a single disk combining songs from both albums rather than the original plan, ie what you described. thumbs up!

I'm sure when he introduces 'Too Funky' on his live dvd he says 'back to 1990' which I always thought was odd as it was released in 1992, so maybe you're right about it being from the vol.1 sessions.

Somehow, I have a feeling that way down the line somewhere, he'll put out a box set of stuff. He's not really done that - just a few (quite comprehensive) CD sets. He'll never put another full concert out on DVD (his own words), but to pull those other songs out and put out a 3 or 4 CD box set with some goodies in it - it's a motherfuckin' wet dream!

I agree, most GM songs I like are the uptempo ones.

I still think Too Funky would be the strongest track from that unreleased album. Disco would have work as the second single though.

Looks like it, because clips have been used in TV specials.
