Do versions of Jimi Hendrix songs exist without his vocals?

I've always wanted an instrumental version of Voodoo Child and I was just thinking have versions of any\all of his songs become available where his vocals have been edited out? They would be great to have for guitar fans and people who maybe didn't like his voice (like me). I always thought a great post-humous project for Hendrix would have been to have a group of famous rock vocalists put their vocals over the top of Jimi's instrumenatls.

biggrin Jimi had pretty good phrasing\expression... he just went out of tune and cracked alot! Come on... you know it's true.

^ so what ?

that only ever happened when he performed live

also , quite often his guitar wasn't in tune , properly , when he played live , btw

it was part of his charm

if you think he couldn't sing i'd advice you to listen to songs like ;

Wind Cries Mary , Angel , Little Wing (live Royal Albert Hall 1968) , May This Be Love and

Remember (for example)

i think he sounds great on those

I'm not saying he was the worst singer in the world. I'm saying he was one of the best guitar songwriters ever so I wish his songs had been sung by all-time great vocalists. For example I like Angel but I think Rod Stewart sung it better or the version of Hey Baby Chris Cornell recorded in 1993. You can't beat Hendrix's guitar playing but you sure can beat his singing... cool

I wouldn't be interested in Jimi's playing and someone else singing. His voice is the perfect and only Jimi Hendrix voice! He had a lot of soul.

One thing I'm not always so crazy about is his guitar going way out of tune live.
