But if that's the case, then why would he be afraid to embrace his past? It's almost like he's forgotten where he came from???? Is that what you are saying?

Exactly what i'm saying. (He's buried his soul in a hole)

Maybe Brenda beat it out of him lol

Richie's career wasn't the same after Brenda beat him and his woman down. We are laughing, but bboy you just may be on to something.

Yeah, after Brenda kicked his ass,his career went downhill. That whole scandal ruined his career. He was no longer the "Mr.Nice Guy-singing-all-those-beautiful-love-songs"...that image was destroyed.

Exactly. He was more known "as the guy who got the smackdown because he cheated on his wife who was with him through thick and thin before he even reached stardom and was the focus for all those beautiful songs he wrote before his solo career, but once he hit the top of the pop tart charts he sold out and thought he was better than everybody who helped him reach the top".

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

That's the thing. You wonder if Lionel is actually afraid to embrace his past. He would probably

prefer to perform Three Times a Lady, Endless Love, and some of his other comatose solo ballads

than he would Slippery When Wet, High On Sunshine, Too Hot To Trot, and Just To Be Close To You. lol

If he didn't perform stuff like "Too Hot Ta Trot","Slippery When Wet" and "I Feel Sanctified",I wouldn't even go to the show!

Walter Orange is on lead vocals for most of those funk tracks, NOT Lionel Ritchie.
