No, she tried to commit suicide because she was going trough severe depression, it wasn't because of a record deal. Missy's CALL was supposedly the thing that saved her life, since they knew each other since the early 90s when both were signed to Jodici's Devante, and basically Missy wanted to sing a back up singer to replace Lil'Mo and Nicole Wray.

as for her absenteeism, the album is ready but there're no labels willing to distribute it.
