Gil Scott Heron mentions Prince on bonus disc of new album Don't know if this has been posted before but in his spoken intro to 'Is That Jazz' Gil talks about how jazz was originally dance music and then became 'black classical music' he name checks Prince as a great jazz musician! Kinda cool! If you haven't heard Gil's album check it out fantastic record  if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

His new album is out (again ?) with a bonus disc ?!!!!! I got the "just one disc" one !!!!! Got to buy it again ! "open your heart, open your mind

It has a great new version of 'Winter In America'  if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

Gil was on tour recently, I believe he came out to Cali. Poor Gil looks so bad. So skinny. The addiction had really taken him over. Also it is reported that he has a terminal illness. I really love Gil's work. When I listen to "living in a bottle" and when I look at what his life turned into...it makes me really sad. The irony is aweful.
Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that? | |
