Toni Braxton pissed at interviewer asking questions about her ex husband and split From Toni's Twitter:
Just finished doing an interview with a very popular magazine... One of my favorite magazines AND...
The young lady interviewing me was the strangest person EVER!!! WHY!!?!?
Asking WAY too many personal questions about HIM and the interview is supposed to be about MY album!!
Where does he sleep? Why did you two break up? How much money does he make?
Ladies isn't that strange? Is it just me or did she seem more interested in Keri or me? I'll keep you posted on this later guys... "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

She seems bitchy and immature to me. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I unfollowed her a while back.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Timmy how come you unfollowed her? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Because I just was tired of following folks who lost interest with me. After that shit with Trey Songz, forget it.

but she's right "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
What's she right about? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
The interviewer shouldn't have been asking her those questions and then asking if she could interview her ex too..that's wack "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Where the hell have I been......I did'nt know Toni had divorced!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Toni has been in the business to know how it works. Of course she is gonna be asked about her bidness. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
but not about how much money HE makes or if she could interview him too "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yeah I think the divorce was finalized earlier this year or late last year.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
How long were they married? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Roughly eight years, they married in '01 I believe.

True. She also didn't seem to get upset at Monique for asking those same questions. Maybe she was afraid that Monique would body slam her. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Folks, if you become famous, people are going to be interested in your personal life (the same way you are interested in the personal lives of the famous).
Most celebrities are too funny: they'll talk about their personal lives until they're blue in the face, but - when they get a question they don't like - they're all, 'I'm here to promote my _______!'
Self-awareness: it's a good thing.

For some reason, Toni seems really naive, whether its making the same mistake over and over with contracts, to not knowing how "interviews" go? I mean its almost a 99% chance if u get interviewed today and U just went through something u are going to get asked about that.....and to be honest, though i love Toni, what can she possibly have to say about "music". "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Maybe this story and those questions are relevant then?

I'm with Toni on this one. I understand a journalistic need to know, but what the fuck? She's there to promote an album, not spill the beans on "a very special 20/20". The girl is divorced. If the "reporter" wanted to know about the ex-husband, go ask the damned ex-husband! If the person did ask about how much money he made, or where he sleeps/slept, that's ridiculous, and not very professional. It sounds like the interviewer was wanting to be another Perez Hilton slag. Good for Toni. She has a right to speak up, or not speak at all.
To whoever said something about caring about her Twitter account - it's no different than reading an artist's personal blog or a Facebook update. That's how she chose to express what she felt after the gonzo interview. Who cares how she does it? Don't make it into one of those "I hate Twitter" arguments. It's not that type of party (and the argument is old anyway, on both sides).

well thats true but that is every interviewer, they are all looking for the "soundbyte" mainly because the public doesnt want to read more than a paragraph, because, well, the public for the most part is fucking dumb, and thats why the media and journalists are even dumber. Im curious what ragazine this was for, didnt see that posted on "twitter" , but if this wasnt a "music magazine" where u sit and talk music than Toni should have known, she is a verteran and knows how it goes in this world, she didnt just get into the biz, shes been here 20 years +. So yes it was unprofessional, but im not shocked, because all journalists are looking for their "moment". I am seeing one very un-strange question, and another probably taken out of context from an answer she gave.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
To me it sounds like she was caught off-guard or unprepared. You'd think twenty years in the game she'd know the time by now

I'm sayin.. if you wanna talk about your album, get an interview with EQ magazine.
Hell, I didn't even buy the Rolling Stone piece on Erykah Badu because it was all about her children.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
well thats what im saying. im not excusing the angles taken by the interviewer, but lets be real, u know what you are going to get, these are kids out of college with someone fake ass journalism communications degree which is worth nothing, and they are from the generation of "shock" and "buylines and soundbytes" and the public for the most part eats that shit up 24/7.
