Since the album doesn’t really cater to her usual fans, I’m hoping there’s still an audience for it.
I thought her performance of “Early In The Morning” on David Letterman last week was fantastic.
You can tell she’s having a really good time performing these songs.
I recommend it to anyone!

Yeah, I was really disapointed with "At Last". Her vocal arrangement was really, really off.
I haven't heard any of "Memphis Blues" but still gonna buy it!

Listen...I think that Cyndi has an amazing voice...but when I listen to "At Last" she doesn't allow the best parts of her voice to shine through. I seem to picture her standing in a dive bar behind chicken wire fencing while she's singing, just to appease the bar owner who paid her $100 to sing for the night.

my co-workers have bought tickets to her show and want me to go. i've never seen her live, but i'm guessing the majority of the songs she'll perform will be from this album. so i definitely want to hear it before i buy a ticket. LOVE ♪♫♪♫ ♣¤═══¤۩۞۩ஜ۩ஜ۩۞۩¤═══¤♣

OK, I finally bought the CD.
EXCELLENT album!!!
I only got to listen to the first 4 songs (on the way back from Borders to the office) and I am very impressed. Blues Cyndi-style. Nice.
This definitely makes up for "At Last". [sorry SOSGEMINI...] By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Thanks for the info! Could you describe the songs you heard? Is it a real Memphis Blues sound? I've always loved her voice but I felt like she lost her way in recent years...how does she do with "the Memphis blues" sound, if that is, indeed, what she is singing to?

Love her but I really have no interest in this sort of material from her.

Most of the album has an authentic "blues" sound. I can't say for sure whether or not it's "Memphis blues" (since I don't really know the difference) but it's very good. She also has some collaborators in the album (B.B. King, Jonny Lang, others).
This album is a step in the right direction IMO. Her last album was great, but the whole "dance" genre was getting too played out already so I can see why she got no airplay.
With 'Memphis Blues' she sings from the heart once more. My only gripe is that - IMO - she didn't allow her voice to shine as much. Alot of times you can tell that she was going for a deeper, more sultry & soulful tone...but she needed to let those pipes ring for all their worth a few times. Why is it that I can't find a review for this album in Rolling Stone???

Deep into blues, so I'm giving myself time to hear this one some more before I buy it. Definitely dig her cover of "Rollin & Tumblin."

I'm just getting around to listening to this album. While she's certainly worked with some Blues Heavyweights on this project, some of the songs really work well with her voice, but some of them are not so great. Overall, it's good music to listen to in the background, and a nice break from her usual sound. I can appreciate that she ventured off into another genre, but personally; I wouldn't need to hear another Blues album from Cyndi. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a bad album, it's just that there's nothing on it that I'm crazy about.

I actually really want to hear this. I like her voice, and I have read a pretty positive review of the album, which I was not expecting at all.
I'll get around to it soon hopefully If you will, so will I
