this is nice, how did I miss it? I'm guessing it had to me from 97 or 98, but I kept up with r&b/hip hop so much then

I sometimes look at the video and go "what the fuck happened?"
Hated Puffy in this. Sorry. I'm kinda regretting loving that Bad Boy era. Must've been because BIG's presence was still felt.

[Edited 5/27/10 9:28am] That makes the video much sadder, I can't look at it anymore.

[Edited 5/27/10 9:28am] I thought she was very attractive back then. Don't know why she went and decided to go plastic... I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

[Edited 5/27/10 9:28am] I thought she was very attractive back then. Don't know why she went and decided to go plastic... From what I saw from her interviews, Kim was jealous that BIG married Faith who was way lighter-skinned than she was. BIG also dated another real light-skinned artist, rapper Charli Baltimore. So after BIG died, Kim began to alter her looks.

I ain't apologizing for loving that shit, cuz most of the hip hop music that came out from 93-97 are classic club bangers that kids half my age know the words to and can still turn any club or party out so many years later. Everyone since that era, except Jay-Z IMO, pale in comparison as far as music for the clubs

It's just that Puffy has become more of a douchebag in recent years.

There is no "classic hip-hop" involving Puffy, unless U mention Craig Mack. "He's a musician's musician..."

He was still the mastermind behind the Hit Men and they churned out all kinds of hot shit in the 90s, not just for Biggie and Kim.

I don't know what he's doing. I would assume he's still rapping.

He said Puffy hardly was behind the control booth unless it was to check on how the Hitmen were doing with the songs. I have to find some quotes from Craig, he said some interesting stuff. Oh yeah, that's what I meant by mastermind in that he put them together. I know he wasn't that actively involved in the production cuz he would just come in and add a handclap or some shit to a finished track and get a producer credit. Ultimately, it was his company and his vision so he still had a major impact on getting the music to the masses. Or else the Hit Men woulda been some no name, outta work producers. Love him or hate him, Puff was way ahead of his time as far as marketing hip hop and garnering mass appeal. Now, that could be viewed as a bad thing, but at the time it was great.

I loved this when it came out. As simple a video it is (escalators and shit) it was visually pleasing and the beat was killer. LK looked fabulous rockin' her fur and ice. Diddy....homely though he may be....pulled off some attractiveness for this video. You know that wasn't easy.

[Edited 5/27/10 9:50am] I believe so. They got tired of the bullshit. Bad Boy ain't been the same since. I think that had a major impact on the company even more so than Biggie's death meaning that they had a roster full of somewhat talented artists who had major hits with the right production. Without that production team, Bad Boy totally fell apart.

Yeah I know all that. I meant to say Mark Curry but I think Craig Mack said something similar. I think Faith also said it. It seems like he had ghost writers and ghost producers around him. Everyone knows Chucky Thompson produced Faith, My Life, and the two BIG albums.

Once BIG was gone and Puffy's bitchassedness showed up, they were like and left. I can't say I blame 'em.

As much as he annoys me and makes my ass itch, he's definitely a visionary in his own way.
