Stokley, one of the best rnb vocalists ever?

I think so-I don't like all of Mint Conditions songs, but even when I don't, I still love his voice.

Y'know the term "the best" is really subject to change according the opinions of the listener. lol, But that being said Stokley has been known to go places with his vocals/phrasing that many wouldn't dare in their wildest dreams a la Stevie, Luther, Maxwell, Marvin, Prince, D'Angelo, Sananda.

When compared to other vocalists from the 90's,
it's a slam dunk.

I actually have slept on Mint Condition since wayyyy back on their first album. Their songs have just never moved me, so I really don't know their repertoire. But I have to say, despite that, that every vocal performance I've heard from Stokley has been incredible.

Agree his voice was on point on The Monique Show with Mint Condition and he is another one with good genes. He doesn't age either. He looks the exact same as he did 20 years ago.

He's kind of nasal, but he more than makes up for it in range and creativity.

I have "Live @ The 9:30" in D.C. and he tore it the fuck down especially "Pretty Brown Eyes" and "Is This Pain Or Pleasure". He's a bad ass drummer/percussionist too.

Yes. He is a very unrated singer in a very unrated group.
Mint Condition and Joe both are going prime candidates for "Unsung"

He's underrated but a LOT of vocalists listen to him. R. Kelly has ripped vocal licks from him on MORE THAN A FEW occasions as well as several other vocalists that have been on the charts. Nobody likes to give him props but a lot of people sure do like to steal from him and Mint.
