I actually like this song but I feel he needs another song to put out as a single, not this one. I'm just looking foward to the next album, Good Ass Job.

I really tried with Kanye. A lotta people whom's musical taste I respect tried to hip him to me. But I tried that teddybear covered album and I could not get into it.

In Dutch we have a saying that goes "hij heeft niets eigens", literally "he does not have anything original". He just didn't leave much of an impression on me. More of a copycat, like Puff Daddy.

But Puff at least could make it sound hot to me. Gawd, now I need to play me some B.I.G.

shrug Different strokes for different folks, I say. I personally have a real problem with Diddy mainly because of his negligence and idiocy caused a riot and ended up getting one of my cousins killed in the stampede. That and also he has no talent but I will say he does make good music...for other people. lol lol Then after each artist he signs has their first album, they pretty much leave Bad Boy and many of them disappear, such as Ma$e, Carl Thomas, Loon, etc. And that song he did for Biggie was just another way to earn some cash dued to his untimely death, (will he did it again later on with the album in 2005 and maybe that movie). lol lol Diddy is good for laughing at that's for sure.

Man, don't get it twisted, get it right. I'm not condoning what Yeezy did, why would you even insinuate that? rolleyes I don't approve of what he did at all. All I'm saying is that people were taking that shit way too far, and you know it. And other thing, you see the sentence I highlighted, right? You better be careful, because you seem to be implying all black people were giving KW the thumbs up and they weren't. And to group all of us is very ignorant. I'm not saying you're ignorant, I'm saying your comment is. confused wink

I am glad to see you do not condone that kind of behaviour. I do not know 'Yeezy'. The sentence "The only reason people made such a big ass deal about it was because she was a little white girl" can be perceived just as ignorant as you call mine. In combination with the sentence 'black men doing "wrong" to white women' where you downplay the stuff they done is where you yourself insinuated it was okay with you.

But I glad you are not! Good for you.

And I think it's funny how people think they can 'insinuate' that there's racial prejudice in the media, then blandly go at it themselves. Every person in the world is prejudiced, it takes a VERY strong person to go against education and the ignorance that the media is rife with, not even talking about the prejudice our parents and religion infuse us with.

In short; there is no 'right'. But you're right; I certainly did not want to imply 'all black people' are okay with Kanye's actions. My bad. Just like you did not wanted to imply that all white people were scuffed at Kanye because she was 'a little white girl'.

Anyways. The track is still REALLY bad. Can't see that going back anywhere outside of the U-States of A.

''every person is prejudiced''

seeing as you don't know everyone in the world you really shouldn't say that..sure people can be judgemental..but that's not necessarily bad..just when they do it unfairly such as..generalization

I know I'm not alone when I say that Diddy ruins good songs. Whenever a misguided artist puts him on one of their songs I always skip over his part. hrmph It's such a inconvenience. 'Press Play' would've been a good album..If he wasn't on it.

Yeah, same here, I just try to ignore it. Dude cannot rap or even dance, with his crazy fucked up dances you see at your grandmama's church. And he sure as hell sucks at being a hype man/singer. ill

Oh, that is really just fucking sad! Someone should have told him early on that dancing was one of his weak points. lol I would really like for someone that was from UpTown Records to call Diddy out! lol

For the first time since Taylorgate at MTV’s Video Music Awards last September, Kanye West will be hitting a major awards show stage. This morning BET announced that West will perform at the BET Awards on June 27. The last time West appeared on TV was the day after the VMAs to rap his verse on Jay-Z’s “Run This Town” alongside Rihanna and apologize for his gaffe on the premier episode of Jay Leno’s The Jay Leno Show. Since then he’s been pretty low key, working on his next album in Hawaii. Last week he released the as-yet-untitled LP’s first single “Power.” So far it has drawn critical acclaim and excitement.

I have to admit, I haaaaaated it when I came out. Ranted and raved, and somehow over the past year, I've grown to definitely like it. Mind you, I still don't think it's any kind of classic - and I wish some of the tracks hadn't been quite so so distortion heavy - but I do now get what he was trying to to with it.

This new track? Love it out of the gate.

I'm sort of shocked this thread died so quickly. This track is not only the best think Kanye's done since Late Registration, it's one of the best songs of the year so far.

He's ridiculous, but his talent is undeniable.

Well...you have to realize that this is the org and you have a lot of anti-Kanye people on here. I'm surprised this thread didn't turn into yet another "Kanye's a selfish bitch who should die in hell" rolleyes As most threads about Kanye on here end up. Let's just be glad that this thread has remained positive..overall. biggrin

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I haven't listened to it yet, but Kanye is my favorite hip hop star of the past 10 years. In terms of his albums:

1) Late Registration

2) Graduation

3)College Dropout

4)808 and Heartbreaks

808s was a grower. At first, it sounded strange, but I admire his risk taking with the album. "Good Ass Job" should be another Kanye classic

For me:

1. College Dropout

2. Grad

3. Late reg

4. 808

"Good Ass Job" should be another Kanye classic

Judging from Power, it looks like it will be.

I am with you. I finally gave this song a listen and whoa.....I can't stop listening to it. eek The end where he sings "now this will be a beautiful death..." with Dwele's harmonies and the piano, is so darkly beautiful. I thought "808 & Heartbreaks" would most likely be Kanye's peak (for me), but now I'm not so sure.

The only thing thAt urks me about this song is the Crimson sample. I know it can't be helped but it's slightly off beat. But as a King Crimson fan Im glad at the attempt to sample it.
