I just put a post up 2 days ago, I saw him on Sunday @ The Qwest in Minneapolis, he was pretty good. His voice was good enough, better than the background singers, the band was FRESH, and he was all over the stage! Go c him!

I saw him at Hammersmith (when it was the Odeon), and Cherelle came on and sang with him.

It was ok, but lacked sparkle. I guess having experienced Maze at Hammersmith in those days it was a bit of a let down.

Something I finally know about. Yes, by all means go see Alex. He's a great entertainer and a great person I should know because I played in his band for from 88'to 92'. Oh how I miss England lol.

Great stuff, the peak years. Which band member are you? I have the Wembley live video from 89.

Actually, the band I was in, we did 4 sold out nights at Wembley. That was 88 while Prince's "Lovesexy" tour was shadowing us. I think it was June 88. Then I came back to Chelmsford Spectacular in 92 and we did a one off with Cee Cee Peniston opening. That was a blast. She came on stage and did Saturday Love with Al. Still miss England though. I have to get in touch with Al someday soon!

Also if I remember correctly, we played the Hammersmith Odeon as I think it was called then and the Apollo in Manchester. I have to find those inteneraries.

OK, the video is December 1989 during a eight sellout run at Wembley Arena.

I saw Alex last year at Grimsby Auditorium, his band is Shola Ama's ex group. He incidentally had the worst support acts I've ever seen (A bunch of pop kids. A Promoter thing no doubt) which went on for nearly two hours. Enjoyed his own show though, even though he didn't do "Sunshine".
