Miles Davis really is the quintessential artist.
These are not gods that just show up as a vessel for heaven's play. You can't be a listless loafer and also one of the greatest musical artists in history. You spill blood and work long after the fresh callouses have made it too painful. Then you get up from your own pile of puke and work a little longer. So perhaps one can start to understand part of his frustration of people wanting to admire him (and usually his past) on their pedestal, as if he hadn't paid a tremendous fee. The harder you work, the easier things come. I also enjoyed how he describes Prince and defines a musician. Well worth the listen and thanks for sharing! | |
