I don't want to watch. I don't want to give this woman beater even 4 mins of my time.

His big mistake was not using the title "All Night" instead of "No Bullshit".
There was nothing wrong with that video. Its borderline R rated but that's no surprise since most material is these days anyway. At least dude can sing and dance, unlike his ex-girlfriend who is experiencing extreme career highs while not having the talent to merit the support she's getting. The American music industry is a joke. [Edited 5/26/10 14:11pm]

If it wasn't Chris Brown; if it were Trey Songz or somebody like that, this would be a strong move for them.
The only problem with this song in many peoples' minds is that its Chris Brown singing it. And yeah, he should take time off.

He should go away for awhile and do some soul searching. Maybe enroll at a community college or learn a trade. He might make a good engineer or architect.
This entertainment and music thing, just doesn't seem to be going so well at the moment.

Maybe it's because I'm a few yeards older but that guy has no sex appeal. I don't wanna watch a boy sexing around. And then the title...

As previously mentioned, this isn't totally surprising as a majority of videos are bunch of sleazefests nowadays. If this ever airs, he's gonna receive some serious backlash across the border. Oh boy... And that's the thing. Also, he said that he did this for the fans. His fanbase is mainly made up of young girls, so this is a bit inappropriate . I know that some will say that this is nothing different than the other shit that's out today, but still. If he's trying to get back in the mainstream spotlight, this is not the way to go.

I don't think it can air anywhere other than Youtube unless there is a slightly edited version (which you know there is). At 20/21, most men's minds are almost completely on sex. The fact that its a sex song isn't surprising. (see: Birthday Sex and notice also the little clip from Taio Cruz called Dirty Picture - more of the same) Chris Brown is a pop R&B artist. That's exactly what I expect from him. That is his lane. Omarion, Pretty Ricky, Jeremiah, Trey Songz, The Dream...there is a whole crowd of whiny-voiced dudes singing about the same stuff. The only problem is that its Chris Brown. He's certainly not the first dude to be sexy with a woman in a video, nor is this the worst example of it.

Except for one song ("Holla At Me," because of the beat and Tyga's verse, not Chris Brown's lame "rapping"), that entire "Fan Of A Fan" mixtape is nymphomaniacal crap. But the little girls are eating it up. Poor, poor little misled children. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

While Venus doesn't find him attractive, we know that there are many young girls who loved and still love Chris Brown for his looks. Pre-Rihanna incident, he was the Usher of his generation (musically speaking). The incident caused a rift in his career but it didn't end it. He still has fans.

No matter WHAT a dude looks like on TV these days, a good million girls are going to find him attractive and be in love with him unconditionally, lol. Gucci Mane and Drake, for example, have millions of loyal female fans, and always will, no matter how horrible their music is. The standard for male beauty/sex appeal in the Black music business has dropped significantly, so I don't think Brown's 100% groupie fanbase is the best way to judge his future success. Regardless of this mixtape, this guy is indeed desperate to get back to where he was, and it's those of us who don't find him attractive and view him objectively that will determine if he ever redeems his former status or not. And by the looks of his recent material, like silverchild said, he's going nowhere but DOWN. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. He just shouldn't have released it until this year. His business people are making VERY BAD DECISIONS for him and because he's young and stupid, he's letting them and just going along for the ride. This song would have been a nice counter to something like Crawl. It should have been on the same record. Somebody is screwing up in the decision making department. I know dude doesn't manage his own career. His manager should be fired.

Pop music has transformed over the years, but what you're saying is a double standard. So in other words, there is a different set of rules? Dude is a singer/dancer. Its what he does. Sex has been the topic of MOST songs since who knows when, so why is it an issue when its Chris Brown? I already know why its an issue. Before the Rihanna thing, he was just another pop R&B singer on the way up. The org always goes in on dude and can't be objective about him. Well, I'm not going with the crowd. Dude can sing. Dude can dance. He has some weak material because my guess is that he's not much of a writer, so he leaves the choices of songs up to someone else - which is where record company politics come in and shit gets really messed up. That does not detract from what he does. He's by far the best male dancer on the Urban music scene and he sings well enough to do what he does. [Edited 5/26/10 15:27pm]

I know all things are relative, but this video is straight porn compared to anything Prince ever did in a video during the late 70s/80s, and is expansively accessible online anytime, anywhere. It was not like this back then. Prince's R-rated tracks weren't even played on the radio. And you don't have to wait to buy this single from a record store with a fake ID, or sneak into a concert without permission like children did for Prince's explicit performances. Now, you just turn on your phone, computer or BET and get instant access. Even parenting is worse now, so discretion over young children and what they learn/watch is minimal compared to the past. And I'm not just saying this because it's Chris Brown. I feel this way about all current "artists" who fall to this level. This trash, like all these lewd Grace Jones-wanna be female videos, ain't "art" to me. I know dude doesn't manage his own career. His manager should be fired. Yeah, I agree. I mentioned them in my previous post. But he has a tendency to pick the worst songs from each of his albums to be singles, and thus always makes horrible videos. I always think: "Man, aside from some dance moves you've ripped, you have never studied no Michael Jackson." .... By "recent material," I was referring to this mixtape. Every song he did on "Fan of a Fan" is awful to me. Before it was released, I figured it would contain great tracks considering most mixtapes by rappers/singers these days are usually better than their official albums. BUT, I was wrong in his case. Just like everybody else. Oh please. This is no worse than a lot of other material from other artists out right now. My Prince comparison was about raciness. Let's not bullshit. Implied sex with one's sister IS WAY WORSE than this. BUT That wasn't the point. The point was that dude is catering to his female fanbase with this song and I can see why. The pop crowd has basically said "fuck you" so where else is he supposed to go? And I agree that the label could have footed the bill for a couple of other videos but they didn't and that's because the CD he did last year didn't move units; in fact, it shouldn't have even been released. They should have waited until this year or even next year. Bad decisions are being made and its because he has some greedy individuals on his team who want to keep eating off him regardless of anything else. That's part of the problem. He should be on vacation right now but instead he's dropping even more music.
