I didn't say it did. I'm strictly talking about ANY actor losing/gaining weight for a role. It's not a new or odd phenomenon and it doesn't put their health at risk if they are in good shape to begin with.

I didn't even read the whole thread so I wasn't directing that comment at you, de niro just came to mind. I just think de niro & christian bale were already serious actors when they did that. call me cynical, but this smacks of a guy who wants people to think he's a serious actor. My Legacy

How does one become a serious actor? By doing the work and Fiddy is going through that process now. Deniro and Bale weren't always "serious" actors, they had to start somewhere. Have you seen Bobby D's student films and some of his first roles? Simply atrocious! Especially Bloody Mama with Shelley Winters. And wasn't Bale in Newsies? P-fucking-U! I still can't take him seriously as Batman cuz of that shit. Regardless, even if it is a ploy, it shows he's dedicated to doing this role. I have no idea if he's a good actor or not, but I do know it's hard to deprive yourself of food for 3 months and run on a treadmill for 3 hours a day on purpose. Hell, most muhhfuckas can't stick to a diet or exercise regimen to lose weight that's actually killing them. IMO anyone who does this is serious about achieving their goal, whatever that may be. He definitely gets points in my book for this cuz it would be much easier for him to stick to sterotypical, tough guy, rapper turned actor movie roles. And this is a departure from that and a tribute to his friend who died from cancer. So, maybe there's more to him as a person and his acting skills than what we've come expect. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I find it funny that folks are always bitching about rappers being one-dimensional yet when one of them tries to do something that's outside of the box and obviously out of his comfort zone, he still gets shit thrown his way.

He's already proven from the start that he can shape his body, so I am impressed with that, but that is not acting! I'll wait to see him do something onscreen that amazes me like Raging Bull (to which he'll inevitably be compared with this stunt) I respect that he is challenging himself as a person, but I don't necessarily want to see everyone's challenge up on the screen. And yeah I've watched him act with deniro & pacino, and he was passable, but so is justin timberlake. I'd rather see better than passable. I'd rather see an actor. [Edited 5/27/10 13:09pm] My Legacy

Pictures of 50 Cent looking like cracked out cancer patient hit the Internet yesterday and caused a sensation, until it came out that his emaciated appearance was helped along with Photoshop and stage makeup.
Two days ago Curtis was seen with his aunt in S. Carolina where he’s shooting a Roots special for VH1. In the documentary, he traces his family tree (I don’t know why his family tree requires a TV special unless it turns out he’s related to 2Pac. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

If those pictures were taken two days ago, they show 50 Cent...NOW, right? He's STILL skinny as all hell but it looks likes he's been eating, lately! The other pictures are from when he was not eating and still on his diet! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

And yet, received nothing for it. And that last photo is from the filming of "Batman Begins." He swelled back up nicely, but something about his face (around the eyes) never fully recovered. If you watch him in either Batman, or "Terminator Salvation," during close-ups, you can see what I'm talking about. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. That photo is real. It's even in the Huffingtion Post (a credible news source). I just hope that his "movie" is a good movie. Hey losing 50 pounds off of an already shaped up and relatively fat free body is one thing. Starring as a damned good actor while you are crack head skinny is another thing. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

Don't they have makeup to cover the tats? You never see Jolie's in her films and she has alot.......seems like that was going a lil' far..... LIVE4LUV

Only thing that is making me wonder here is 50 is so much darker then that pic on the left.......but maybe it's makeup. LIVE4LUV

Same thing happened with Idlewild,
I still can't believe that's really Curtis in those pics. I'll have to check out his flick and judge for myself...I'm curious now. [Edited 5/31/10 15:42pm] Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I'm glad that he put a baseball cap over that alien-like dome of his, maybe it grew like that because of his ego. I don't like 50 cent and nothing would make me go and see that movie, not even if he was death incarnate. "Fiddy's" rapping skills isn't even |"all of that". He's lucky that Dr. Dre put some time into those dope beats that caught the nation's attention on his 1st CD. He may have a good rapping voice...but that's about it. Lyrically he sucks. You know you have to have a big head when you get on national television challenging Oprah because she won't you on HER show. Before I saw this thead, I actually started a thread about the same thing because I was shocked at the weight loss. But he's still a loser. Yeah...I drank my haterade today. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?
