There is plenty of new ground to be broken. LOTS!!!

But only by the right gifted artists. Christina unfortunately, is not one.

Although Christina has a magnificent voice, she does not have Madonna's or Britney's ear for catchy accesible melodies and songwriting.

She could dress up in a chicken costume, and it woudlnt matter if the songs were there.

But on Bionic, theyre not.

Not matter what the image, its really as simple as that.

I think Christina needs to drop the gimmicks, stop trying to be some provocative, sleazy, sex goddess and concentrate on her VOICE.Forget about image! Get out there and blow people away with that powerful voice.Let Lady Gaga and others wear the crazy outfits.

For real lol

The second pic is just outrgaeous , what the hell is this ?

I finally took a good listen to Bionic today and it is really good. I think it should end at You Lost Me because the final 3 songs do not fit at all with the rest of the album. They aren't bad however they just don't fit in to me.

Let me get this straight...you all have heard the album, and you're STILL bitching?! Jesus Christ, what is wrong with everyone here?

Bionic is better than anything Prince has released since the mid 90's. Maybe the early 90's. It's certainly better than the last few albums, that sucked.

I listen to Bionic, and I hear a #1 album in the charts. And even if it's not a number one, it's a masterpiece of pop music. It's probably the best pop album to come out this year, and is definitely one of the best albums PERIOD to come out this year.

If you hate Christina's attitude, fine. But don't slam the music, because that just makes you look ignorant. Who (%($ cares if Christina insulted whoever? It's about MUSIC, not her personality.

And since none of us, including me, actually KNOW Christina in real life, none of us can make a statement on how she is in real life. Same with Britney. How do you know Britney isn't a bitch? Or Gaga? Or whoever the hell you talk about here?

Bottom line is, STFU and stop acting ignorant. And I'll be laughing at all you asses when Christina's new album is topping the charts. lol

mad I WAS a huge Christina fan, but this album blows. The only great song is Elastic Love. The rest is banal faux electro pop. Its too safe, but doesn't even have a hit on it. Basically its halfway between a hit and a cult hit. its not gonna please much of either audience.

Strange that critics are raving about it, fans are raving about it, and the ONLY people who don't like it are the Prince fans on this forum. Even Michael Jackson fans are loving it.

Sorry that Christina didn't cater to YOUR tastes. However, she does what she wants to do, and that is why she is successful. Artists that stay the same stagnate, and lose fans, so Christina will probably GAIN more fans than lose them with this album. wink

Eh, it's probably more accurate to say that some critics and some fans are raving about it. Overall, the album is getting fairly neutral buzz. The consensus seems to be pretty close to the middle. It's not great, it's not horrible, it's just average.

It was bound to happen eventually. B2B wasn't really good and the 4 year breaks doesn't do her any good either compared to her peers that are putting them out every 2 years. But during those years you'd expect her to come back with quality material. Bionic was just pain awful outside of a few songs.

It's nice though, to hear her not over-sing as much on the ballads.

Yeah, where are these critical raves coming from? I have seen two very lukewarm reviews from Slant and The Guardian, but that's it so far.

I told you, I don't like artists who stagnate. HOLY GOD. I love Madonna, I LOVE reinvention. But this one didn't work. http://slantmagazine.com/...ionic/2139

now show me a one fucking five star review. Also the Radio stations and Billboard charts or even the digital audiences have yet to agree with these ravings.

Well, I'm through with these types of threads.

I will always be a Christina Aguilera fan, and she hasn't disappointed me yet. Hell, I even loved the demo album, "Just Be Free," and she was only 14/15 when she recorded that one.

I stayed away from this forum when Michael Jackson was alive, because there were so many ignorant Prince fans taking shots at him. Now that he's dead, you all are praising him. Hypocritical much?

Christina seems to be the new target; however, for the sake of my blood pressure and my overall health, I'm not going to get into a debate about this. You have your opinions, I have mine. Personally, Bionic is my favorite Christina album out of the 6 she's released, and it even beat Stripped (which I didn't think was possible.) So I am very pleased with this album, and I can definitely see it selling.

As far as if she's over, I seem to remember a quote that goes, to the effect, that 'you're only over when people stop talking about you.' People seem to be talking a hell of a lot about Christina as of late, which means that she is FAR from over. cool

Will you please stop with the comparisons to Michael Jackson, my god. There were tons of Michael Jackson love on this forum before he died, sure you had a couple of people that liked to troll but overall he was constantly talked about from fans. This mess Christina is in has no correlation to Michael. Anyway you really sound like you're trying to convince yourself with this 'greatest album' speech. Most people on all the forums I go to arent liking it. Its not just the Prince forum.

It's not just Prince fans that feel this way about Xtina and the album. And I can't blame them.

You're right though, she's not done for yet. She just needs to leave the ego at the door and work with the right people for her to come back strong.

Well, it's out in Germany and Australia, and shooting up the charts. I think it's number one in Germany, and number 2 in Australia.

But hey, I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't do well in the US. With the kind of music we have in the charts. lol

True. You may be right. And I'll admit I was wrong if that's the case. But I actually think it's going to do quite well. I listen to the music created by a lot of the people who worked on this album with her. I know a lot of other people who also listen to that music. All those people are excited to check this out and support the people she worked with. Even though most of them have never dug Christina before. But none of that matters to me, really. I just enjoy calling out the mindless, hypocritcal haters. I'm wacky that way. lol

iTunes positions do not correlate with chart placements in most markets. In the US, Taio Cruz's album is #2 on iTunes yet he is set to debut with...22-27K. There are rare exceptions when digital album sales can be significant, but trust me - this is not going to be one of those exceptions.

NMT has made the Top 10 in all of one market (Belgium) whereas Dirrty was a huge global hit even if it did fizzle out in the US rather quickly. So, we're also not talking about a Stripped situation where the lead single has done well internationally and poorly on the domestic front.
