I LOOOOOVE THIS ALBUM! excited It's one of my favorite, if not my favorite, album ever.... I was obsessed with "Hey Ya" when it came out. The song was incredible and the video made it even better. Did anyone see them perform on VH1's Big in 03 in 2003? Amazing performance! The audience was cheering loudly and people in the crowd were yelling "Ice Cold" repeatedly when Andre came out in this pink outer space skiing outfit. I was just enthralled by the whole event.

I ran all around my house when they won Album of the Year at the Grammys in '04! On top of that, they ruled the Grammies that year with their performances...Great moments!

I had that album on repeat for a few weeks when I bought it in 2004 - I didn't listen to Speakerboxx nearly as much.
I prefer to listen to this album in its entirety but if I had to pick a favourite track, I'd say "She Lives In My Lap". nod

This is the one that I play all the time off of the Idlewild soundtrack. This cut rocks my socks off...it sounds like a lost Funkadelic gem from 1971!

Ya know, even though I understand the Prince reference,,,I've always felt that other inspirations clearly contributed to album's sound; Sly Stone & George Clinton comes to mind.

This is a great CD. My favorite track off that album is "Happy Valentine's Day". The video is hilarious, and they show bloopers at the very end of it.

The part of the video that always makes me laugh is at 3:11, the expression on that guy's face after he takes his sunglasses off. falloff Which gives me an idea, I need to make a gif of that. idea
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Odd how you guys are Prince fans but pick the songs that are most unPrincely.

Roses, Prototype, Love Hater, Spread, super Princely.

I was surprised Prince wanted to be seen with these guys. I was hoping it would kick his ass to the point that he made better music. I guess he didn't learn.

Listen to that weird organ and crazed piano on Spread. Prince used to do that--no more.

I hear Funkadelic, Zappa, Prince, Fishbone.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Simply my favorite album of the 2000s, the sort of album a young, bold excentric, innovative and fresh Prince could have made, except that this young, bold excentric, innovative and fresh guy was Andre. He truly has amazing talent, and please spare us any comparisons with Prince ("Prince dwarfs his musicianship skills", "He could not even play a guitar", "he is a total rip-off"...and all such bull****)

Prince has never come to mind as I've listened to OutKast, neither has Zappa (...and I love them both).

I love this album! Definatley one of my favourites from the last decade, you can really hear the prince influence & his vocals on "she lives in my lap" are so sly stone-ish. My favourite track is Spread, the way he uses the sound effects of the car, door, keys, zipper,,, amazing!

One of my favorite r&b albums of the last decade(and yes it IS an R&B album). It has such ambition, and refreshingly interesting songwriting subjects that show an r&b form with a hip hop spin. Spread is still MY SONG. I miss this nigga man.
Did Prince ever deny he had sex with his sister? I believe not. So there U have it..

More like the album Prince wanted to make. He just couldn't master the hip-hop element. Echoing what others have said I hear more than Prince on this album and despite all of the influences it is a uniquely Andre 3000 album. He's been a top flight m.c. for years and this wasn't lightning in a bottle. Anybody who's followed his career isn't surprised that he could create such a great album. Outkast has/had been putting it down for a while.
