I just discovered The Black Keys

OMG - this band is INCREDIBLE!!!!

My buddy gave me a copy of their new album, "Brothers", and I like each and every song on it! Seriously, I played it in the car on the drive home from work and every song was good...I'm still playing the CD in the car (4th time over by now).

It's rock, it's funky, it's retro, it's edgy, (it's basically what a Prince album should be).

Any fans here?

The first time I heard this Howlin' For You song, The Rolling Stones came to mind.

I agree, they're good.

nod
They obviously have a wide range of influences.

I actually got into an argument with my friend b/c I think that the last track on the album ("These Days") sounds just like Ryan Adams, & he says I'm outta my mind.

I just bought the CD and put it in my computer to import it to my I-tunes. I tripped out for a second when I put it in as a black CD and it came out practically white with all the tracks listed on it. When I put it back in its case and let it cool down, it turned black again. Pretty cool. Sounds great so far.

Me, too. I like to discover new music by downloading random songs/albums that are completely unknown to me, and I came across the leak of Brothers a month ago and checked it out simply because I liked their band name. lol I had no idea who they were or what kind of music they did, but as soon as I heard the album, I was sold! I've been on a quest to buy their entire discography since then.

My favorite track is their cover of "Never Gonna Give You Up" but the entire set is solid. Album of the year for me.

drool...

"Tighten Up", another favorite of mine, on the Late Show...

Also, an interview and performance from NPR...
