top 5 all round musicians of all time?

who would your all time best musicians be in the modern era? in my opinion prince would be in my top 5 ! he has everything! In no order 1. prince 2. john lennon 3. freddie mercury 4. michael jackson 5. beck

Mine would be... Prince, Frank Zappa, John Lennon, Sly Stone & Stevie Wonder but then there's the classical greats like beethoven and mozart... argh too hard to decide!

Shouldn't the term 'All around musician,' mean that you play many instruments well? Some of the people listed don't play one instrument well never mind ALL AROUND.

Enough of this dusty Broken record ....I have heard this broken record like million times here, MJ is both, entertainer and musician.

Since when you have to play an instrument to be a musician? MJ was responsible for the majority of his songs, written and composed solely by him.

And those songs he created weren't usual songs, songs that changed people lives and influenced other cultures ,languages.
