We happen across this big ass MFing tag sale today. THey had literally THOUSANDS of CDs, records, DVDs, etc. They must have owned a used record store at some point. I found Carmen Electra's CD. Pass (got it already). I found copies of D&P, GB, Emanicpation. I didn't buy a CD though. I found a cool treasure that I didn't even know existed.

Janet Jackson 7" single of "Come Back To Me". The spindle on the record isn't a regular 45, but rather one like on a 33 1/3 (smaller hole). The whole thing comes in a box, similar to an old Reel to Reel box. There's a poser I'd never seen before, an 1814 pin (still sealed in plastic), and the record in a sleeve.

However, the record was warped, and is probably just over the verge of unplayable. The poster has a hole-ish area on the corner of one of the folks.

They wanted $12 for it. There was no way I was paying that. I told her I'd give her $5 but no more. SOLD!

It's a cool piece of Janet memorabilia to have. I never knew this "box edition" of the single existed. I might still frame the poster, despite the tear. It'll make for an interesting collector's piece.

Most times the remixes are the same. The CD singles are sometimes divided in remixes, depending on the market (UK, US, Japan, etc), but they're attainable. I always dig in bargain bins, 2nd hand shops, garage sales, etc. You just never know what someone has sitting there for $1 each.

The best garage sales are always in the midwest or the south, because people simply don't know the value of what they have! Especially farm sales--what a bonanza! I remember when my grandparents had a farm auction that people got away with antiques for a steal! How about a first edition LP of Peggy Lee's Black Coffee album in mint condition? That goes for a huge amount now! Wish I had kept it for my self!

Scoring CDs at garage/tag/yard sales is my favorite thing to do on weekends, and it's quite addicting. You find great bargains. Unlike shops, most garage sale sellers don't know the true value of a record or disk and want to get rid of them cheap.
I recently got the Pink Floyd Echoes 2-disk compilation (excellent condition) for $1. The seller didn't know if it was a video game or DVD or what...

Agreed. But let's also keep in perspective that sellers don't care about a record - hence their "value" is non-existent to that person. It's like that "one man's trash its another man's treasure" sort of thing. A Prince record isn't a big deal to them. But to a collector, it's a find.

I'm always out to find older Paisley Park artists on CD. Carmen Electra wasn't it though. lol
