So basically, we all agree that Mariah was a serious vocalist when her then-boss Sony Music CEO Tommy Mottola had her image/persona under control for the first half of the 1990's. Am I right?!?

I don't mind the change in Mariah's voice, but I am bored with her R&B and hip hop influenced direction. It was cool at first as a change from all the ballads but it is getting really old now.
I wondered if she ever considered doing a house/dance influenced record. She has done some good remixes sometimes even with new vocals. It would be an interesting change for her but not so bizarre it would turn off her old fans. I think she should try it.

lol I just know the direction you like to take threads. Okay, staying on topic: I agree, she was a serious vocalist when Tommy had her persona under control for the first half of the 1990s, to which you respond.....

The girl's management is all fucked up anyway. lol She did quite alright without him from '97 to around the Glitter period. Honestly she lost motivation. Someone needs to be there to help her in that department while still allowing Mariah to take control of what she wants, work out a compromise.

Oh Lord, I remember hearing "Vision Of Love" on the radio for weeks thinking it was a new song by Shitney Houston. Horrible song.

Mariah was still good during the Honey & #1s era of her career. But it was around the time of the Rainbow album that she really lost her damn mind. In retrospect, Mariah was acting as if she was reliving her teen years.

So what is your take on Love Takes Time & Someday (an uptempo track BTW)?
