MacArthur Park...no not that one

I have always loved Donna Summer's version of 'MacArthur Park', but this version by the 70's group "The Three Degrees" knocked my socks off. It's a long version but very much worth it. These girls were so underrated and after watching and hearing them perform this version (a few years BEFORE Donna released her version) , you will understand why I say that.

I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

They were Philly's answer to Detroit's Supremes. They actually have a bigger UK following than the Supremes though. It's so massive one of the most popular members of the group - Shirley Ferguson - moved out of the United States and settled in England permanently.

The longer, album version of their cover of The Chantels' "Maybe", their actual first crossover hit.
