Mariah Is No Longer A Part Of "Colored Girls Who Considered Suicide"(Update: Pix From The Film) Thank you Jackie for bringing this to mind:
Mariah Carey Drops Out Of Tyler Perry's 'For Colored Girls ...' 'I'm not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time,' Carey's rep says about her decision not to star in the film. By Jocelyn Vena Fans who have been looking forward to seeing Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson hit the big screen together for Tyler Perry's film adaptation of Ntozake Shange's 1975 play "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf" will be disappointed to learn that the flick is officially one diva short. A rep for Carey confirmed to People.com that the singer decided not to appear in the flick this week, following Perry's confirmation of the cast to MTV News in April. Her rep, Cindi Berger, gave no concrete reason her departure but said, "I'm not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time." Her dropping out of the film has many wondering if Carey is pregnant, a rumor that has been following her around since she married Nick Cannon two years ago. That rumor has to date not been confirmed. Shooting for the film is expected to take place in New York City this summer, and the film will hit theaters in late 2010 or early 2011. Earlier this year, Perry (and Janet Jackson) listed the names of the women attached to the movie, which at the time included Carey. "It's Janet, Mariah, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine, Anika Noni Rose ... I don't want to forget anybody," Perry said. "It's pretty incredible." "For Colored Girls ..." is based on a series of 20 poems about a woman who is identified with a single color of the rainbow. The stories deal with a wide spectrum of topics including love, abandonment, rape and abortion. http://www.mtv.com/news/a...riah.jhtml [Edited 6/3/10 14:30pm]

Yep. Preggo! Otherwise why would Berger talk about "personal life". She could have just said "no comment." If it aint preggo...it's a money thang.

i was really looking forward to seeing her in this, but i'm sure she has a good reason for her to pull out last minute like this. It's Tyler Perry. You can count on it. Mariah and Nick have been in and out of fertility clinics lately. I hope their alleged wishes come true.

He still can't direct or edit. If you ask me, Mariah was smart to walk away from this train wreck. Space for sale...

And has black actors and actresses actually working again, how convinent. Every American film has a stereotype of SOMETHING. If I put on a Kung Fu movie right now made in Asia I KNOW somebody is going to be eating some rice in the background or something....I can watch a white family comedy and most likely see them in a nice home with two kids and a dog..that is also stereotypical. Someone is being abused/cheated on/using drugs and in the end that person finds redemption. 'Diary' I thought was decent though.

Yeah THROUGH THE LORD-AH'S MERCY-AH! Sorry I had to do it. But seriously it's always that, if you're a druggie, or an abused woman, a cheated-on person, you always go to the church to get "salvation". That's how all of his films end. And if you're lucky you get a crazy gun-toting, curse-loving grandfather in drag...oops. I'm sorry, but even when he's Madea, Tyler fails. Flip Wilson would've took his ass to school.
