Don't let Prince see this!! No really, I think this was from The Fast & Furious soundtrack (I think back in 2001 or 2002). I first heard this, I was like these damn biters! SMH...

SMH... Y'all know where this came from right?! SMH... I feel Prince now! I understand why he didn't give Ja and Murder Inc. tha green light on anything else. I don't think Prince OK'd this neither.

He's not the only one Usher bit off Prince also on the same song "Do It To Me" on Confessions, and there have been plenty others like Timbaland for Justin Timberlakes "Until The End Of Time" which also sampled Rasberry Beret's snare too. Chris Brown did too on "You" from the Exclusive album.

Prince doesn't usually clear samples, so they have to be sneaky and take only drum *machine* sounds, or reinvent the melodies.

But it's still so clearly Prince because they aren't talented enough to significantly mask the source music.

Does he actually have to clear samples or does WB decide that? Because Tupac used a lot of Prince songs straight up. I thought getting approval for samples was up to WB same as if an artist wanted to remake one of his songs. I KNOW P didn't authorize that atrocity that was Ginuwine's When Doves Cry but he must've gotten permission from WB shake

Tim really needs to cut P a check for all the beats and songs he's jacked disbelief

Well, damn! lol

Suge is a HUGE (literally and figuratively) Prince fan. I sat behind him and Puffy at a show at the Roosevelt, and watched both of 'em scream like 12 year old girls. disbelief

He could be rolling in credit if he wasn't so reluctant in clearing samples. It's up to him - I guess he didn't want credit for songs with certain content. shrug
