Just Good Farkin' Music - Rooney Rooney is set to release a new album very soon, and is going on tour w/ Hanson and a couple of other acts - this is their first headlining act.
Rooney recently left their record company (Geffen), and went independent. They also lost their bass player, Matt Winter, who went back to school to get work on his MD degree, which was always his goal. They're new single is "I Can't Get Enough". They recently recorded an impromptu acoustic version while just sitting around in their studio. It's just as good as the album version. I first heard of these guys, by catching the last 45 seconds of their video for "I Should've Been After You" on Palladia|HD. I was so hooked by that small portion of the song, I went out that weekend, and bought their (at that time) current album, Calling The World. I was a tad nervous, thinking "What if the rest of it sucks?", but I had a feeling it wouldn't; I was right. SO infectious and fun. It's like Queen, ELO, Maroon 5, and The Beatles all rolled into one. Modern, yet familiar. Find their Wild One EP (4 songs) that they just released. Great stuff on it. So rarely do I find a band that I'm that excited about over 45 seconds of something I caught, but these guys are spot on. I love that they're independent too. | |
